People are so afraid to give Americans great credit for WWII And I'm sick of it, Why do you think that on the day of Frances liberation the french were waving mostly American flags? And singing American national anthem? And it was an American General Commanding American AND British forces! Before you try and write back to argue don't bother, take a collage class on history and investigate with soldiers from that war then lets talk. The area that Russia attacked was tiny compared to ally's!

This marked the American invasion and take over of Europe. They are still here 60 years later with over 50,000 troops in Europe. Hopefully with the impending economic collapse the Yanks will finally go home.

People in Europe often do not realize it, but the term "Yank" is often seen as derogatory stateside partly for the reason that it has two meanings. During the American Civil War, those in the Confederate South referred to those in the Union as Yanks. And ever since it stuck as the "invaders" from the north. Whereas Uanks refer to Americans who live north of the Mason-Dixon Line in the United States, most people around the world, particulary in Great Britain refer to all Americans as Yanks.

it was germany's problem having to fight on so many fronts against the massive numbers of soldiers and equipment. as for the technological advantage i think none of the allies would have been capable to stop hitler alone. but gladly they built a team and we lost the war. it would have been absolutely horrible having to live under their cruel rule.

The war could've never ended if the French, British and Poles wouldn't have been so damn stubborn about forming an alliance with the Soviet Union, you could've put up 280 divisions up against Germany's 107.

The war could be different if not the nazi-soviet alliance against Poland and especially... the French cowaredience. So called Free French forces were not the same as our, but well... De Gaulle becomed French president, Sikorki was killed by Brits, soviets get thier zone in Europe and everybody was happy... "Europe" was "liberated".

Can't people just accept that Russia bore the brunt of the German offences and sacrificed much to end the war? US-focused propaganda from the war-era is one thing, but active dismissal or trivialization 60 years later is just petty. Yes, the US did a lot and supplied much to the war-effort, but it keeps portraying the war almost as a US-dominated effort. =/

America armed and fed the Russians, British, Chinese, and other allies.

The Americans took back North Africa, Sicily, Italy and Greece with the help of the British. The Russians weren't there for those campaigns.

u fucking moron. america came into the war years before allied forces pushed the germans back to berlin. and how do u think the russians were able to do that, maybe it's because the germans were fighting the war on both fronts. american did just as much if not more than the russians during WWII. the russians did a lot but don't ever take anything away from the americans.
