actually there are no cures for viruses only vaccines. Because when you get a sickness from a virus like normal flu or herpes (I hope I spell it right) it gets cured by itself the medicines you take during the sickness are only meant to ease the pain if theres any.

But, if a virus needs a host in order to function and propagate, and oxygen is a killer for the virus, wouldn't it make sense that a virus would find your body unsuitable if your body is alkaline?

Well the virus itself doesnt enter the cell it infect but it gets connected to one of the cell's receptors and then he injects his RNA into the cell and then the cell make more viruses instead of the normal proteins he used to create. And there isnt oxygen in the blood plasma only in the erytrocites (red blood cells) so he can survive in the blood. But from what I know only the AIDS virus cannot "live" and places with oxygen but again i am not sure about that.
