Its the prohibition of alcohol that lead to these mob groups like 'montana's' finding nieche which they could infultrate and profit off. as soon as the prohibition was aborted these gangs slowly began loose power. Yet regardless of the failure of 'the war on drugs' weed is still illegal. were the sense in that. the movie looks good to :)
...why is everyone beating this movie up? if it wasn't for this movie there would be no 80s scarface... the 80's one is good, but this one's my favorite
Why is everyone complaining on Scarface (1932) so what it's in Black and White and it's 77 years old that doesn't mean it's junk and the reason this movie is in Black and White is because in 1932 it was the Great Depression and they couldn't afford to film some movies in color color than cost too much money. So just because it's 77 years old, and it's in Black and White doesn't mean it's junk and this is coming from a 13 year old
Good for you ikevyoi... you're only 13 and you have more perception than a lot of adults. Black and white was the original color of all movies. I personally love it, think it looks great. The Silver Screen they used to call it.
hey, hey! What with all this beating up on the old scarface?!! They were both great movies! Neither of them were the greatest gangster movies in my opinion, but both were great!
puto bitch q-lero up tight bun hole better not get drunk with migi or he'll stick a banana up ur ass when you sleepn then youll wake up with haze eating out your ass and youll be like daze! get the fuc out my ass
1932: Tony, what do we do? What do we do? Come here, I'll show you what we are going to do. (He seriously believed that he can just run out and escape on foot?)
1983: Tony, what do we do? Do? We go to war, that's what we're going to do, we're going to eat that Sosa for breackfast.
If I was like him I'd just make a sound proof room hidden doorway to it and a chain gun hold on with non perishable food change my name to Kiko and work and El Pollo Loco
This is the original ending from this 1932 version: "an armed Tony escaping from his besieged apartment. He leaves via his secret stairway but, outside, is riddled with bullets from police machine guns. Refusing to fall, Tony staggers towards his nemesis, the police detective Ben Guarino (C. Henry Gordon). Confronting him, Tony fires his gun, point blank, in the policeman's face, but the gun is.." (They were presured to make changes)
Even the reviews say that for the remake they dumbed down the dialogue and upped the violence. The original film, this version, is considered a classic and even Capone himself loved it as it was about him.The remake is in no way held in the same regard.Sure i love the remake but the boundaries that this film broke cannot be challenged.
if the ppl shooting are down then their shooting up. if their shooting up, how does the bullet go straight throught the window and across the room? sorry i just felt like pointing that out.
This version by Howard Hawks is classic..........The Brian DePalma Scarface is one of the worst movies ever made......

you cant really call this "Scarface - THE ORIGINAL VERSION", because the 1932 film was based upon the life of Al Capone...
the 1983 film was about the life of a Cuban immigrant rising to the power of American Druglord
