  • @Beagus sorry wrong account. But still thx

  • @Beagus I'm 14 but I think I'm different in terms of technology because the first computer I ever used was an apple Lisa

  • I love Coleco Music!

  • Nice find. I'm into vintage computers too. I have a Commodore 64 (needs fixing), but these Atari computers seem cool too. Is there any way to put 64K into an Atari 800? I'm probably gonna get the 800XL, but I would get the 800 in a flash if there was a way to get 64K into it.

  • @TeamRocketReviews There were and are RAM upgrades for all the Ataris including the 800. Just reading about one company called Magna Systems that apparently produced (you'll have to research this more) upgrades from 256k up to 1MB!!!

  • @Ogma01 Yeah, but I never got why they did that, if no real software supported it.

  • @TeamRocketReviews I think the original 800 was only upgradeable to 48k

  • my dad worked for Thorn EMI for 25 years fixing tv's

  • What song did you use on this intro?

  • @greyhoundgill Coleco Music - Coleco Says: How Are You?

  • i haf an xld but it needs fixing my brother used to own it but he got mad at it and dropd it so like i sayd it needs fixing

  • Got one with 2 1050s and a dot matrix printer.

  • Lucky son of a gun. I never find anything that cool on Craigslist. I love vintage computers and you are just plain lucky to get that.

  • @thatguyontheright1 Just check regularly... Just recently I acquired an Atari 400, 410, several BOXED original 8-Bit cartridges, power supplies, cables, controllers, etc. All for $49. Just have to do searches regularly.

  • @Ogma01 Well, I just found a guy selling an Atari XEGS for $40, but its out of my area and he is reluctant to deal with me.

  • @geckron Pop on over to eBay and do a search for "Atari" and "monitor" and you should have no trouble finding the correct cable. There are currently some homebrew versions as well as some vintage (still in original packages) and all should cost you no more than $15. Good luck! I loves me my XLs!!!

  • Good video. I have been collecting computers since the early 1980's. In 1996, I started filling in my collection by buying from Ebay. Wish we had decent camcorders and Youtube back then. I would have loved to have filmed the hundreds of components that I had shipped over the years. Will never forget buying a Mattel Aquarius on Ebay and having it shipped to me. UPS left it at the door, and someone stole the box before I could get home from work. Still haven't replaced it yet. Bummer

  • Hey Mr., I see, great colection You have. I'm collector too. I have Atari 800XL, 130XE, Disk drive CA-2001, Commodore 64 old and new version, Disk drive 1541, turbocorder, Amiga 500, Atari 1040ST, Amstrad CPC 6128. If You wanna more old machines to Your collection I suggest go to Allegro polish site.

  • the 800 xl was my very first computer. Such good memories, thanks for posting this!!

  • hey unboxing mean unbonixing a NEW equipment

  • @ArturoBiker It does? Hmmm... I've watched a LOT of other "unboxing" videos on YouTube that have featured old, collectible items... In fact, I modelled this on loads of other "unboxing" videos I had seen. Do a search and you'll find a lot of them.

  • @ArturoBiker Video Title: Adventures In Retro Computing - Unboxing the Atari 800XL

What the fuck did you think you were watching.

  • @ArturoBiker Unboxing means put something out of the box dude...

  • I wonder if I should do an unboxing video... once I actually finally win a vintage computer on ebay.

  • @VintageReviewsJr i did one.i was going to di it on my atari 2600 but the mall came when i was in school and my dad just rip it out

  • Nice video. I have been thinking of getting a vintage atari computer and was wondering which one would you recommend getting a 1200XL/800XL or a Atari ST. Thank you for your opinion. Also I should be getting a Free TI-99/4A sometime this semester.

  • Nice video. What do you use to clean these things? Maybe that would be a good video as well

  • Good condition I see....I might be getting my hands on one of these myself....my 2600's are boring me.....haha

  • im not sure who needs to get out more.you for recording opening a box or me sitting here watching you ?

  • Ha! Funny... Watching other people opening boxes inspired me to do the same! I suspect we'll be seeing a video from you soon! :-)

  • So, did you find out what that cable was for?

  • No one in particular. Your best bets are either eBay or Craigslist, but make sure you do some quick Completed Auctions price research first. The retro computer collectibles market fluctuates all the time with prices varying widely.

    Good luck!

  • That's a nice grab of Atari equipment! I have the 800. MANY great memories playing on it. I don't smoke, but friends of mine do, and it's amazing what it can do to computer equipment and where it manages to get in to!

  • You sound so much like Brian Posehn. He has a pretty distinctive voice and yours is just like his.

  • It's even more odd that I actually KNOW Brian! :-)

  • Do you know him like you know yourself? ;)

  • Thanks for the mention, a very nice surprise THANKS! Glad you got the bug, isn't in fun, funny mot knowing what condition etc as you share it with viewers.....

  • I feel your pain with the stale smoke smell with some of these machines. Had one or two retro computers that stank to high heaven of smoke.

  • And it STILL stinks to high heaven despite sitting out on a table for the past week! Yuck!!! Can you tell I'm NOT a smoker?!?! :-)
