The 14thA didn't extend the Bill of Rights to the states. I'm not saying our rights should be violated by state govts, I'm just saying that that was not the intent of the 14thA. Each state has a BoR almost identical to the Fed one anyway. If the intent was to extend the Fed BoR to states, then there would not have been a need for congress to included state religon clauses to the proposed Blaine Ammendment 7 yrs after the 14th was ratified. The 1stA would make those parts of Blaine redundant.
