@TheLT187 I have played both rugby and American Football. I was raised on AF. The hitting is much harder in AF. The pads are weapons, not protection. I encourage you to hit a scrum sled with and without shoulder pads, if you can get some, and see for yourself.
That said, I enjoyed playing rugby a lot more than I enjoyed football. Fat guys get to run the ball more often in rugby - and EVERYBODY likes that - and the more continuous flow of rugby is better (I think anyway)

The lineman wouldn't be able to run the lenght of the field once; any flanker (the positions are comparable) can run for 40 minutes straight. They have to, that's how long a half is. No breaks in the action, no time-outs, nothing of the kind.

Do you play professional American football or professional rugby? IF you do then great, talk all the shit you want. But UNTIL then, shut up and enjoy the sports and stop trying to say one is more pain inducing or better. Because both sports have serious injuries that can occur, and in matter of physics technically football is more painful with a higher weight and height class then rugby. Hitting without pads is painful, getting a hard helmet hit on a non padded region hurts more.

Do you play professional American football or professional rugby? IF you do then great, talk all the shit you want. But UNTIL then, shut up and enjoy the sports and stop trying to say one is more pain inducing or better. Because both sports have serious injuries that can occur, and in matter of physics technically football is more painful with a higher weight and height class then rugby. Hitting without pads is painful, getting a hard helmet hit on a non padded region hurts more.

It's called getting earholed...YES a helmet is over you ears but trust me you feel that pain (that is the weakest part of the helmet) and YES helmet to helmet contact is illegal but it happens all the time. Your "common fucking sense" would seem logical to the average idiot however it is not,pads are not a cure all, getting hit harder doesn't mean that the protection is making it less worse.
