It's a nice way of cleaning the truck while the fire is going. I believe this is "multi-tasking"
This fire was so hot the batt chief dipped his fire hood at the hydrant and was wearing it for the majority of the fire.

Good video. I was amazed to see the phone pole caught fire from radiant heat. With the way things are in Detroit financially fires like this will be all too common.
