@theloniusmonk2384 Yes! The vocal arrangement is flawless here- airtight. Those trombones are also so tight, it's nearly unbelieveable! Glad you added your comment here!
@downrightman the only place to find this sort of music is on PBS at times. other than that, no one seems to be doing this sort of art any longer. and that is very sad.
@tomovox I'm getting old enough that I have to shut off light popular music on a car radio. I was at this year's Four Freshmen convention, and sang this song myself among the "Wannabees".
I use Hammond organ waveform for harmony on my music website ('Carl Moore Music" are the keywords, omitting quote marks), and sometimes I cite the Four Freshmen there, and I arranged "Candy" there as well.
I have "Carl Moore's Music Pages", and on its main page there are included these electronic arrangements by me (I am unable to put singing into these):
Candy (the title of the video I am comment on in the message you are reading)
Call Me (based on Chris Montez, but harmonized by me -- I was looking for something uptempo like "Candy")
Fly Me to the Moon (the introduction is influenced by what we hear here in Candy)
hi tomovox! the original version, was made by the pied pipers , guess in 45 , together with jo stafford. hope you find it at you tube. greatings from ICE COLD GERMANY !
can you tell me who did the original version? I'd love to hear that! I'm glad you like the video, and thanks for noticing the use of the colors! it's a "colorful" song and I was trying to give something to match the music!
Hee hee! That song must have had a subliminal effect on me becasue I gained 3 pounds putting all that stuff into the video! (I didn't want that candy to rot!)
Woah.... What are you doing Jody C.? Told ya it's good.
