  • @TomFynn and @SocialPromotionTips I'm sure our scientists will be thrilled to learn that the YouTube community has figured it all out in the Public Lecture comments section!

  • @SLAC Haha. That was one of the best comments ever made on You Tube. ;)

Thank you so much for sharing your lectures!

  • @TomFynn The amount of mass in a star and the amount of energy it throws off in photons and neutrinos, and undiscovered sub-atomic energy particles over billions of years has been measured? Prove it. Then prove what dark energy is, if it isn't energy thrown out by stars. The critical density for a flat universe is not known, none of this is known for sure, you are misled.

  • Dark energy isn't a thing that grows with the expansion of the universe, it grows with the amount of energy that stars throw out. Think about it. Stars burn, and throw out photons, and other fast-moving energy particles. This goes flying around at the speed of light, causing the accelerating expansion. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it only changes form. Here's another really basic one. What goes up must come down. A kilo joule of energy has as much gravity as one kilo of mass /c2.

  • @SocialPromotionTips Bullshit. The mass in the stars can and has been measured. It is about 5% of the critical destiny for a flat universe (flat as deduced from WMAP). The amount of mass converted by a star into photons and neutrinos over its time is about 0.1% of its mass. So, no.

  • MMk?

  • She gives a nice talk. But her voice is too high pitch for public speech.
