Them dudes got heart in Strong I. Being from Queens our parents let us hang out on the island but they ALWAYS warned us bout Nassau hoods; Hempstead, Freeport, etc. we used to go at it with the white boys in Elmont with the camaros, and them white boys HAD guns in the 80's
we've got a mix of everything. i'm white too and just cause YOU went to school with 3 black kids doesn't mean I did or the next person did. you're probably from an affluent neighborhood. there are some nasty parts of li that i don't want to be around. and just as many bad parts as there are, there are super rich, really nice parts. all i mean is that long island is mixed and this documentary is just highlighting and pointing out the rough parts of li and the struggling youth.
get real its a lovely place to live, even the worst areas are nice places to live and yet the youth decide to make them seem horrible on purpose.... we are all lucky to live in the best place in the world people should learn to respect themselves their neighborhoods and each other by having positive pride about where they live
@bluntbill u got it all wrong go out to wyandanch, hempstead, brentwood, roosevelt, north amityville, uniondale, central islip and freeport and say long islands soft gurrante ulll be 6 ft deep and il be pissin on ur grave.....ya scumbag
this is fucking ridiculous and doesnt resemble long island at all... i graduated with like 3 black people and all their parents were doctors lawyers and dentists........ long island is a lovely place to live and this makes it seem like an inner city ghetto, i give this an F for being unrealistic and retarded
BLUNTBILL, Long Island has all sorts of hoods. White, Black, Hispanic, mixed, rich , poor. Just cuz you had 3 black kids in your school doesn't mean it's like that in every town.
Couldn't imagine growing up anywhere else. Though it's not the same as it was when I grow up. There is an increase of gangs, over crowding & overall demographics of the island. I still love it but it's not what it use to be.

Alot has changed on LI, your right. The environment and the culture still remains though. I couldn't imagine growing up anywhere else either.
