Man, there are a LOT of spelling errors in those credits... Not just the English, but even some of the Japanese names are misspelled. All that money on locations and special effects and even star power payrolls... but nothing for a competent English consultant for their international release? I mean, the dubbing is fine, but c'mon! They could at least get a professional Japanese-English translator to consult the credits so that there's not so many errors! Jeez...
i dont care what movies you've seen, but seeing godzilla die and watching these credits thinking it was over, is the saddest movie moment for me and i think is the last movie to make me cry. Long Live The King Of The Monsters
I'd of prefered Godzilla 2000 to continued from this or pick up afterward somewhere... the 2000's didn't do it for me, sorry. 1984 - 1995 was a great series which latest longer than the last one :/
this is a good way to end a seires. of course this would have been the end if that stupid American Godzilla hadn't came out back in '99 where they practically massacred and raped the very name of Godzilla.....
@0mustangdragon0 yeah, the one Roland Emmerich directed? That sucked. Hopefully this new one coming out soon will be better and correct all the heinous mistakes made in that '99 one...
@CrankshaftRabbit9164 Probably going to do it again with the reboot. Gozilla was basically about hiroshima and the aftermath. They turned it into the french being blamed with America saving the day, because america is arrogant as fuck. Same thing again probably.
@MrBoBoTom To be all but fair, you are only half right. The American version, witch was retarded, evolved from a lizard that was native to an island the French did nuclear testing on. Also the very original movie monster, Gojira was caused by nuclear testing, witch could have come from either the USA or the Soviet Union. Most likely US though. The concept for the movie came about because the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the Daigo Fukuryū Maru was still fresh in the memories of Japanese
@MrBoBoTom bullshit it was just a way of changing around his origins jeez why do people always bitch about Americans glamorizing themselves in movies when they do it to, hypocritical much?
How many other non-American movies have you seen where the army single-handedly defeats a major worldwide threat within days? The U.S. acts like they own the world and the saddest part is that they essentially do...
@htsasele look at the godzilla movies, the japanese have all sorts of advanced weaponary, i don't see people complaining about them making it seem like japanese have best military power and i remember in the movie rodan they stopped a threat that could have destroyed the world so i don't see your point
@CrankshaftRabbit9164 True, but look at the bright side. In Godzilla Final War the original Godzilla kicked the American Godzilla ass in five seconds, and half that time the American version was flying threw the air
@porpus99 LOL!!! yeah I saw that in another vid. and to add insult to injury for 'Zilla' I don't think they completely animated that guy he just looks like a polygon. But whatever it was cool >:D
I remember seeing this as a 11 year old. Destroyah...Im sorry,....DESTROYAAAHHHH!!! yeah, Desroyah scared the shit out of me as a kid.I was actully shedding tears when godzilla died, mom my was watching with me, she was pretty upset as well, especially when godzilla tried to mourn his so, but then when godzilla junior was in full form at the end I was so fucking happy!!
I fucken love this film. It was really a shame for Momoko Kochi to have her final role in this film. May the legendary actors of the original film rest in peace. Kinda wished Godzilla Raids Again was part of the continuity though
The entire way i see it, the following 90s films in this order are a one giant sequel to 1954: Godzilla 1985, Godzilla vs Mothra Battle for Earth, Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla(1994), Godzilla vs Spacegodzilla, and Godzilla vs Destroyah. Yep pretty much you now know what i mea as sson as you watch those films, and no matter how the order went I consider Godzilla vs Biollante and vs. King Ghidorah non canon. reason: too much plotholes
@ParodySUCK1711 actualy godzilla vs king ghidorah its cannon and important cus with the mechanical remainings of it the humans created mechagodzilla, the humans rebuilded ghidora after being killed by godzilla, and after mecha king ghidora was destroyed the humans used his mechanical head to make mechagodzilla,
Because those are the first series Godzilla films, also known as the 'Showa' series. This is the second series, or 'Heisei' series. It ignores all previous films except for the original.
Please listen to Toho; Godzilla is a male, Godzilla Jr isnt in any of the millenium movies (all direct sequels except Tokyo SOS); Godzilla 98 is not a valid entry; the 90s films are in no connection to the showa films other than the first one
NOOOOOO!! Godzilla is dead and junior Godzilla too thats the worst ending of godzilla is so sad Godzilla is not my favorite monster but how can he died? :(
The funny thing about the franchise is that in nearly every movie, a pagoda temple must be destroyed. It's not a Godzilla movie without a pagoda being razed by Big G (or any other monster).
i remember that channel, that was i think the first, and only godzilla marathon they had, cuz after that the only showed godzilla vs king ghidorah and now WAM is gone :(
For those that would like to see the film this way. Crackle.com has the Uncut version available to watch free of charge.
All of the 90's films have uncut International credits, but all of them ( GODZILLA VS. KING GHIDORAH (1991)-GODZILLA VS. DESTOROYAH (1995) were replaced with Sony's video generated credits on the VHS and DVD releases here in the States (that don't even include end credits!). Cable airings of these films sometimes featured the full credits, as seen here.
Thanks for posting this. I have this version on my VHS. Too bad it's not on the DVD version. I also have to agree that the 90's series is much better than the millennium series
Sorry, Mx, I didn't see you're question, otherwise I would have replied directly to you! Anyways, look at my comment at the top of the page for an explanation.
@TransatlanticFoe84 You know, I was watching Godzilla Vs Destoroyah, and I knew something was off with the credits.. They just didn't feel as theatrical as the credits in Godzilla 2000, Godzilla 1985, Godzilla vs Biollante, and then it hit me on the head like a ton of bricks. Sony used Windows Movie Maker to create those godawful titles in the Heisei films. Moviemaker! How cheap is that?
Pathetic, isn't it? What's worse is that Sony still uses these versions on online streaming sites such as Netflix, and Crackle.com. Out of nowhere, the uncut versions of SPACEGODZILLA and DESTOROYAH appeared on Crackle (SG only lacks end credits), while the first three 90's films on there still feature the truncated Sony credits. I have no idea what that's all about.
@MxGardiner There are rumors that Sony will re-release the 90's films with Japanese language tracks and accurate subtitles (they hinted at the possibility of it about a year or so ago), but they more than likely wait for LGP's new Godzilla film to drop before they bother with that, which makes perfect business sense. I actually found Russian torrents of GvsKG(91') and GvsM(92') which feature the International English credits..so I know they do exist. GvsMG(93') Int. credits are even more rare.
@TransatlanticFoe84 I wish Sony would lose the rights so CM could acquire them. I'm sure they'd do them justice. Although... I heard from Keith Aiken that Sony is planning a Heisei boxset to tie in with the release of Legendary Pictures' film in 2012. Maybe there's a chance, we'll get lucky and they'll use the Japanese or International prints.
i really fukin hate the region 1 edition of this movie, which is a double feature with godzilla vs. spacegodzilla. And it was released by Sony!! Region 2 DVD all the way!!!
