  • Through all this dissing...the guitar has some great tones coming out of the body that are heard best in the lower registers, and through the neck pickup. It would have been nice to see the entire guitar...as that 18" bout is a mind boggler. Although...Epiphone came out with one a bit over 18...long time ago.

  • that's jerry garcia style of playing....

    great

  • @MrCicciodesellero Thanks for that!

  • this guitar cost 17,292 dollars...

  • @TheCheky

No, that's the MSRP. Although the actual price will still be thousands of dollars, it's definitely not 17,292 dollars. Get off of Gibson's website and go look at real guitars

  • Guys, I get the jazzholes comments but lets not fuck about. The guy can do whatever he wants with his instrument and people can feel that he is misusing it, at the same time. Not everything circles around rock mythos and music shop employes drooling over Eric Clapton. Some instruments are built for a purpose and they are rare - if we can feel disgusted that prize violins rot behind glass in some living rooms then we can be disgusted that prize guitars might at best see some pentatonic licks.

  • It's your guitar man and please don't be offended but my heart ached when I saw what you use this guitar for. I hope it treats you good at least. I am searching all over europe now for the kind of quality that the 60ties Gibsons had so I do have the bias of waking up in the middle of the night in the past thinking that someone is bending out some licks on a super 400.

  • Great playing??? I didn't hear...it's simple lines but not great playing man

  • it sould be more jazz sound man .....do not play dist on it

  • @andrewika He can play whatever he wants. It his guitar, stupid.

Great playing. Fine ass guitar. I got one of these at home, playing it with dist AND OD.

  • You should have invested a fraction of what you paid for that's

  • Want want want

  • Please enter my order as well for a dozen of those $100 budget guitars. LOL

    Big Ron

  • WOW cool home rig, i bet you wish you could turn it up!

  • that tone.... you just cant get that in other guitars. I know this is rude dude but how much was it?

  • @The666thBowelOfHell well from what i found out now a days they go for about $7000 jus buy an epiphone broadway elitist and swap the pickups to some gibson classic 57's it'll get you that tone

  • nice guitar shame about the amp set up.. it sound like the 100$ budjet guitar of my kid

  • I need to get one of those $100 budget guitars!!!

  • well played.

  • Hi very nice sound - greetings from germany winni

  • beautiful beautiful tone. Wonderful guitar, nice playing too.

  • so true lol

  • its for jazz !!!nice blues lick though need more kenny burrell than stevie ray lol by the way that guitar is worth a small fortune

  • MIndless noodling is good for the soul!

    : )

  • Can this guitar play songs like rock other than blues?

  • I think so?

  • @scarforlife21 Pretty sure the guitar does not play anything...the person playing it can play whatever they know how to play...

  • Man, that looks and sounds fine!

    ( i play a 1951 Gibson L-4 C)

  • beautiful guitar! it's blasphemous to play anything other than jazz on a super 4 though!

  • I tought the exact same thing.

  • Be better if he played something that made sense

  • but then I might actually be sensible......not really an option my friend.

  • An Option is correct my Friend. No Harm intended .... I live near Kalamazoo Michigan where that Guitar was made. Gibson moved out around 1988. Heritage Guitar now uses the Building .. I had a 1964 EB 0 F Bass. I got it used in 1967 for $100 and sold it last year for $1800 .. Keep Playing, I know you will

  • dorian

    FTW

  • i hate when possible...theres not much to hate on....your modes are well controlled.

  • just curious...i have a super four hundo non cutaway..non electric..pre war......have you played on the venesion cutaways or non cutaways for that matter......if so which has the tone you prefer....

  • thank you for getting my humor and being a good sport......I have not played the non electric pre war guitars you mentioned....sounds like they would be amazing

  • haha....you sound great man....keep it up......even if it aint jazz is still good stuff....and I would never call it rock......too intelligent to be rock

  • you play jazz with a super 400

  • I love rigid people! Im so sorry that I didn't play jazz....I'll never do tha again. If I do I will make sure to pray to Barney Kessel for 2 weeks every morning.

  • Don't mind Jazzholes, man. You sound great! "thejazzman" would do well to remember that Eric Clapton used one of these on George Harrison's live performance of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". Eric was stoned out of his mind, and he still kicked huge ass with that huge bear of a guitar!

  • dude just beacuse he is playing with a jazz guitar doesnt necesarily mean to say he has to play jazz you need to get over the fact that he has that guitar

  • your an idiot...learn to read jerkoff

  • ok, just saying mate, it is hard to interpret what tone people are using when they make comments, but i was just stating a point

  • no argument with that.

  • Great playing! and a very beautiful Gibson

  • Awesome playing!! What amp are you using?

    Phillip

  • Wow ! George Benson was using this legendary guitar.

  • i have been looking evrywhere for this guitar i just cant find it

  • good musician, Awesome Guitar.

  • i know a guy who uses this guitar in a metal band cause it has days of sustain with his line6 amp.

  • Yeah and rocks with MesaBoogie!!! That's the perfect guitare for that nonsense picking!

  • theres no way u can play metal with this!!! maybe a es 335 i can understand but this!! never only blues and classic rock

  • Sounds good :)

  • Nice!have you checked out Paul Pigat\"cousin harley" rippin on his 350?

  • everyone is talking about how this guitar is very expensive, but it looks very similar to a guitar I have that was purchased used for about $250...

  • well its one of the bast(if not the bast) jazz guitar ever created. but in my opinion its just dont worth the money. its cost

    $9000 - $40,000.

  • how much?

  • very, very, very expensive...

  • By the way, a good early 70's without the volute goes for 7-9k while the pointed cutaway in this video was probably made in the 60's and is much more. I use a Super 400, an L5, a Barney Kessel Custom and the 400 is my favorite.

  • The Super 400 is probably the best production/limited production guitar made today. I don't like the sound of the amp in this video. Super 400 s sound best through old Fender 4-10" tube amps. The large (18") body needs lot's of speaker area to breathe. I have a real 1965 Super, a 76 Super and a 61 Concert. The Concert is absolutely the best for the 400. As far as price, if you can hear and tell the difference the price is well worth it.

  • awesome tone...just curious about what kind of amp u r using..thanks

  • I love that tone

  • Hi! I didn't have the chance to play with a "real" Gibson Super 400,but have played with a Line6 Variax that gave me the sound of this great guitar! A Variax is just a modelisation guitar, but the bests sounds that I've heard were the arch-tops sounds, and when I've recorded Lee Ritenour's songs with this sound, it was really cool, so having a real one must be awesome!Cool demonstration of its potential!

  • hey nice epiphone E series i have one too

  • HAHAHAHA!!!

  • I love Gibsons. But they are terribly over-priced, big time.

  • my alltime favorite guitar.

  • Hi! Great guitar! I've never played on a real one like this one, but I had a Line 6 Variax that a friend had lend to me that gave it's sound (modelisation guitar where there was this guitar, a L-5, Gibson ES-175, many greats guitars sounds and I've recorded songs with it, it was really super! Is it your guitar? 5* for the demonstration! BYE!

  • you suck!

  • fuck off !

  • fuck your mom off

  • How much does that guitar cost by the way???

  • a lot!

  • isnt it like almost $13,000$

  • Florentine cutaway too. Nice.

  • Bitchin' big box you got there, J.

    Jazzbox Supreme.

  • perhaps the best archtop guitar in the world and the most expensive too! sounds amazing, but u gotta show us also on clean sound playing jazz, jazz music is what this guitar is for

  • your setup is perfect... dear god that sounds so good.

  • is that a serious comment liecht??

  • If he can afford it then who cares! Unless he was some noob who got his parents to buy it for him. Nice playing btw.

  • sure miss mine

  • pretty guitar really and the player is very good!

  • Wow that guitar costs £10,000 in britain!

  • *Jaw hits the floor*

  • Nice....that guitar is HUGE....like something the Beatles had....beautiful guitar and sound though.
