@dannwe123 as much as like the arcade verison your right the nes version has smaller characters so you can see your surroundings better and get more warning for bullets, the arcade version is like 300x prettier tho
who ever put that wierd break in the second riff was a douche, they totally wrecked the flow, i admit the sound quality is better but they destroyed the intricasy, they should have kept it the same tunes just amped up the sound quality, they should buy the rights to use vertex guys version for future stuff
This game was kind of a let-down. :( I was really excited, but found it far too easy. Probably due to the unlimited continues the game gave you, but I beat it on every difficulty in just 1 day. =/ Thankfully it's still fun and has some replay value, but not a whole lot...
Fantastic, Epic, Legendary, and, the most important-it is Heroic. The "Thank you for watching" sign at the end of this video should be considered a fair play ^ ^
Fantastic motiv, I listen to it daily, but, the best part of this legendary music, at 0:50, sounds like a kind of a damn parody...Maybe too much electronic influence?
@RoyalFool47 Thats because it is Arnold Schwarzenegger from Predator. The Artists of the game actually used the template from the movie poster to design it.
Dear god... the memories... the countless hours of life spent in a futile attempt to beat the game in a single run without pausing... now I have a strong urge to go dig up my NES and hook that baby up!
You know it! I miss when attacks where fatal and dodgeing was a tactic that was essential to master. Also the shield from Halo is awful since the shield regenerates there's no damage build-up you can just run away to heal yourself everyone does it and where's the fun in that?
I know, I was replying to someone who was asking about a sequel where "you jump out of a helicopter". Obviously talking about the part in the first level where the player jumps out of a helicopter.
I'd love to see a new Contra, kind of looking more like Gears of war, but with more action like in Contra (jumping around and all), and good remakes of this awesome awesome awesome music
ah, sorry then. Ive heard countless Halo Fanboys cryout against anything that beats it (which happens to be an aweful lot), including The Contra series.
@CSSOcelot Dude, this isnt revised, this is the arcade port which came out before the NES port. Plus, the NES port was way better than the shitty arcade version.
Crazyman, The arcade version of Contra was released one full year before the NES version(which you hold in unusually high regard). That makes this the original version of the jungle theme. So no whining!
-looks up the specs- the arcade machine uses a YM2151, which is a Yamaha Sound chip, so that is why it sounds like a genesis game, for the Sega Genesis, and other various arcade games used Yamaha sounds chips, this is why it sounds like a Sega genesis :).

At 0:17, the guy on the left reminds me of Arnold Schwarzenegger from Predator.

@alahos you forgot the alien face from the movie alien in the middle xD lol

@alahos LOL I always thought the same thing when I was a kid, seing the cover of the original nes game.
diamonds6137 1 year ago
I say to you this then. "Where did you think they got it from then?"
All they did was just slightly change Arnold from Predator to look like Bill Rizer, and Sylvester Stallone from Rambo to look like Lance Bean.
And the alien that's in between the two? From Alien. That's the actual story.

ReggaeZal 3 years ago 9
I don't think Halo twats can handle 1hit-kill games. Too much shielding training and not enough Jack Burton reflexes.

One question: is it me or does it sound a bit like Sega Genesis type music?

To be honest it dose sound like Genesis but it's a NES game.

-looks up the specs- the arcade machine uses a YM2151, which is a Yamaha Sound chip, so that is why it sounds like a genesis game, for the Sega Genesis, and other various arcade games used Yamaha sounds chips, this is why it sounds like a Sega genesis :).
TekmonX 10 months ago
@wii1245 It's because the MD sound chip (YM2612) is basically a different version of what was used in arcades at this time.
