I guess the voters of Iowa didn't laugh. Ron Paul turned out to be one of the biggest jokes of the campaign. He'll do even worse in NH. Then on to South Carolina, another Huckabee state. Ron Paul's own state doesn't even support him. 60% of Democratic Arkansas supports Huckabee. Ron Paul needs to step down and stop diluting the republican vote.

So al-Qaida and all those insurgents killing each other has nothing to do with civilian deaths? And if you knew anything about insurgent tactics, as seen in the Hezbollah-Israeli war, the insurgents attack from within neighborhoods, provoke a response, and then run away before the bombs come dropping down. The insurgents use the civilian populations as human shields for their cowardly operations. They launch rockets off the top of apartment buildings, then run away before the response comes.

So what are you suggesting, that we don't outfit our soldiers in uniforms? And last time I checked, it wasn't just a few insurgents we were battling. Think back a few years ago to the Taliban in Afghanistan. Now we're in a cold war with the largest sponsor of state terrorism, Iran. So it's not just a small group of ragtag insurgents. And I believe what the candidates were agreeing upon is that this "small group of radical Islamic thugs" is small compared to all the Muslims in the world.

No, I'm suggesting that we work with others in or around those countries to find a way that won't cost so much taxpayer dollars and civilian lives. Maybe use intelligence more effectively to hunt these criminals down with smaller less-obvious units? We know where they camp and train. Think Google Earth.

But the weapons and uniform manufacturers like it just the way it is.

I agree with the fact that we should work with others. But it seems that our European allies and Musharraf aren't in it for the long haul like we are. Only when the fight comes to their doorstep and it's too late will they wake up. But there's no use arguing with you when you say that the war is fought for profit. I believe your intentions for the troops and America are good, but your underlying assumptions about America are a little schewed in my opinion.

I'm simply looking at history. The US government has been bent on invading and occupying other nations- 200 invasion since after WW2. Now we're going broke and can no longer afford to "police the world" or whatever one wants to call it. If my business is going broke because I have overextended, it's time to tighten the belt and downsize.

US government borrowed 10 billion dollars from the Chinese to give to this dictator who has 30 nukes. The taxpayers will owe this money back to China with interest, as we will the borrowed funds used to promote "democracy" in Iraq. Don't you see a conflict of interest here?

Musharraf is an ally, a crappy ally, but an ally nonetheless. I believe he is afraid of going after the terrorists in Pakistan because the population is very fundamentally Islamic and he fears retalation. What we need to do is get Musharraf to allow us to go into Quetta, the Taliban stronghold, and bomb the crap outta that place. See what happens is al-Qaeda runs into Afghanistan, attacks, runs back across the border to Quetta, and we can't follow them because we aren't allowed in Pakistan.
