Legoland isn't keeping Starliner, but they are at least putting it in storage to give the old girl a fighting chance. Rumor is a park is in the process of buying the coaster, just waiting for the deal to finalize.
this is just like the Python coaster at busch gardens xcept it's gone fore ever ,and that baby broke recoreds here in Fl. it was the first coaster that went upside down and was 3rd oldest coaster
wow i hope that someone in panama city fl tell people to get miracle sritp to come back im making a protest im mean come on half of the rides are sitting there rotting and noone is doing nothing least they still have ship wreak
It was sad to see one of the last seaside parks get shut down. I learned a couple of days ago that a construction company had been given the contract to clear the former MSAP property. It should be noted that MSAP was Florida's only true amusement park. A true amusement park is just a collection of rides with no real main theme to the park. Hopefully, they're going to develope the site into another amusement park, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.
Yeah, it's really sad the way they've tried to "save" this park. I think they bought the park so they could intentionally drive it into the ground while trying to look like they're saving it so they could close the park and turn it into condos. After all, Landsouth is a real estate flipping company. They got a rude awakening when the State of Florida said they wouldn't lift the conservation easements so there is some hope. I just hope to ride the coasters again and soon (hopefully).
i went to miracle strip every year at least 10 times for 10 years, and i miss that place! i cant believe that the starliner is moving again! i hope it ends up somewhere near pcb or alabama again
It's too bad the current owners of Cypress Gardens don't realize how many people came to the park for the rides. I just hope they realize their folly before it's too late so the coasters can stay. I myself found it was worth the time to drive from Orlando to Winter Haven just for the rides. I'm also glad I was able to ride the Starliner, it really is a fun ride.
i live in pcb, and i LOVED that ride :((( thats the first roller coaster I ever went on.lol its so sad miracle strip is gone! they didnt even do anything to it. like half the rides are still there just sitting there .
Wow....that was really cool! I love the sound and the feel of the old wooden coasters, tho I haven't been on one in years. So sorry to hear of the closing of Cypress Gardens. My Mom had gone years ago, and absolutely loved the place. Great video!
Thanks, I think this was the best ride at CG and it really was a great one. I just hope another park buys it so it can thrill more people. It's sad what the new owners are doing to this old park, but they gotta do what they can to stay alive being it's in the back yards of Busch Gardens Africa, WDW, and Universal Studios.
Thanks for the vid. I hope they can save the Starliner, it looks like such a great coaster and a nice piece of Florida's history. I hope those greedy no good Land South people (if you can call them human) get a swift kick in the @ss. Save Cypress Gardens!
Yep, it's unfortunate. Landsouth (the current owners) is a real estate company and I think that's eventually what is going to happen to most of Cypress Gardens. Sad to see such a historic park be gutted like this. Hopefully someone will atleats save te Starliner and Triple Hurricane.
I heard that Lego land wont be taking Starliner in. so who know what will happen to the good ol' star liner.

Ok Merlin, you better suck it up and give this old legend a chance. If not, you're no better than Land South to me.

She was a beauty, and a damn awesome ride to boot. I rode her at Miracle Strip, and at Cypress Gardens. She truly is a legend that's worth saving.
Farewell O Starliner, I hope to one day see you rolling again.
Land South should stop pretending they care about "Saving" Cypress Gardens when their new plans have ruined it.
