  • The bass player reminds me of John Fruscante

  • Not sure why they never made it on this side of the Atlantic. We needed another "Edgar" besides "Winter"! There wasn't much English-sounding about them at all. This is pure West Coast-influenced, Blue Cheer with Captain Beefheart on lead vocals!

  • LOVE IN THE RAIN!! Yeah, I remember they kicked in with this when they played Hyde park with Pink Floyd. Terrific gig. Perhaps their best-loved tune.

  • Another handsome dianosaur band.

  • Was regular at youth club when this was out. Not my record, some guy with short hair loved them.(& Zappa) Over a period of 18 months he brought in the first 3 albums, I enjoyed but never bought them. But I still love this stuff, plenty beneath the surface.

We had to put up with soul and skinhead type music, after our heavy intrusions.

    Christ, I was 15 once.

  • This is ROCK!!

  • Am l beeing to far ahead to call'em fathers of DEATH METAL ?? ;)) guess so lol

  • Surprised how no one has noticed how much this sounds like the end of Purple Haze

  • Edgar Broughton Band (as some bands from that era like Ten Years After were used to) always gave its best performing live.

  • LOVE IN THE RAIN!!!!!

  • what's the name of the show? very cool.... i saw alot of 70's bands playing on tv, and all the tv show's looks like the same...

    very powerful band... yeah!

  • This is bad ass! Better than anything out today. Save maybe except for some stoner rock.

  • cool, sounds like sabbath!!!

  • I would so like to LIKE these guys but I can't get past Edgar's voice! I've definitely given these guys a chance though, listened to their first four albums in their entirety along with the "Live At Abbey Road" CD and musically they're awesome. It's the vocals and the lyrics that are just lacking IMO. But as for those Beat Club green screen effects....FAR OUT!

  • @MattHatter

Well, the lyrics are plain weird, downright cryptic. As for Edgar's voice, I understand he was very smitten by Captain Beefheart's singing style(at least I read that somewhere) and maybe that wasn't the best influence. Anyway, there is a theatrical quality to Edgar's vocals, which can be sort of fun.

  • Amazing Steve Amazing...lol

  • das ist fantastiche!!

  • psychedelic rock...for ever

  • Only in Beat Club you can have these effects.

  • WoW!...leave it to the Germans,to keep something like this for posterity.

  • I saw them a few times at " The Old Bull & Bush"Hampstesd.Rode up from Bournemouth on my BSA Super Rocket.

    Those were the days!

  • And I saw then a couple of times in Maidenhead.

  • Wow!!!!!!!

Damn great to see some actual footage!

    Historical!

  • Amazing. These were the first rock band I saw live in 1969 at Bath Pavillion. Haven't looked back since. Out Demons Out

  • This is what got me into HEAVY, HEAVY 70s ROCK....!!!

  • saw EBB several times in glasgow around 1969 at the Maryland!

  • This BAND was truly badass ♫

  • so sad...an amazing vid, but severely editied. i saw the full ver on youtube last year but it was removed. it was about 8 min long!

  • I had the GREAT pleasure to see EBB two nights ago in Aylesbury. WOW - just awesome. I probably saw them in 1969 through an, er, haze @ The Roundhouse, Camden but hadn't caught up since. 40 bloody wasted years !!! They played Love in the Rain this week and sound 10 times as good now as I remember back then. I won't be waiting another 40 years !

  • sounds like Sabbath!
