  • Never noticed when I was a kid watching this video that Adrian's guitar is a lefty that he must have restrung to play righty. And by the way, yes, I agree with everyone who said Bert totally nailed this one. Another vocalist was not needed at all.

  • Kick ass song. Damn, I want to go back to 1983.

  • This band was so underrated! I have 3 of their albums...they were the BOMB!

  • I think hes one of the most underated singers in rock !! I was lucky enough to be one of the bus drivers in the 80s for whitesnake, adrian to me is one of the best players, seen then open for ozzy great show !!!

  • Roto Toms ? I almost forgot about them..

  • What a song, pure passion, my God!

  • Thanks! Believe it or not, I've not seen this video since 1983!

  • Adrian is such a fantastic guitar player.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADRIAN VANDENBERG

  • I too heard this on Sirus Hair Nation, it is great to hear these old songs, and have a place to hunt them up and then wear them out, I bet I have played it 100 times in the past few days.

  • Great power ballad. I heard this song last night on Sirius Satellites "Hair Nation". I hadn't heard this tune since the late eighties and had totally forgotten about it. Always cool to hear lost music from long ago.

  • @BriBeast8566 Funny how it works out like that isn't it. I could tell a similar story.

  • i absoultly love this song..it was almost one of the first ones played on mtv.....i can listen to this song over and over and over again....LOVE IT AND THE LEAD SINGER....YES HE DEFINATELY NAILED THIS SONG....GREAT VOICE

After all this time you still haunt my mind

and I just can't seem to find

the peace of mind I need so bad.

    Love Molis

  • Great music!

  • Awful sound quality, what a waste of digital space and I'm talking about the acct. owner.

  • nice vibrato on the solo--i notice his thumbs not on the neck at times--i think i'll try this--i have decent vibrato, but need to take it up to this level--awesome solo and underrated guitarist for sure!!

  • Who doesn't remember the MTV debut of das tunage ! I remember thinking ..Ok ?

an entire drum set comprised of Roto toms, I used to beg a friend of mine to play this on his guitar in 83. i think it charted low in the US but became legendary in the UK.

  • \m/ 80's Rock \m/

  • Great song...

  • this song should be the staple of any metal lovers ballads!!! This song is timeless!!

  • 素晴らしい曲だ。

  • A few weeks ago I saw the singer in the supermarket, he looks better now with short hair :P

  • Gjhc

  • excelente balada do Adrian Vandenberg (ex Whitesnake)... o solo q ele faz é fenomenal...

  • Adrien payin' Homage to Mr. Schenker in this one

  • I remember videos like this on MTV. When it was Music Television, now it has become Morphed Television.

  • @Naolt1 Those were the days when they played music 24/7 on MTV and most of it was rock. Today MTV is a total sell out they should have stuck to the original formula but I guess times change, it was great while it lasted. Now MTV is just another channel on the remote that I hardly ever go to. I can still hear the old MTV theme song in my head "Da, dada, da da da dant"... That was a great time for music.

  • @goforitrandy mtv rocks is a little bit like old mtv

but try VH-1 they have a lot of classic rock

  • @goforitrandy F--K YeA THEY WERE MUZIC! TODAY IS GARBAGE, ROCK BANDS OF 80S PAVED WAY TO ALL THAT IS RAGE, LOVE ON THE RUN AND FREEDOM!! I LOVE THIS SONG HE RULES, POISON, JAKE GILES, ACDC DEEP PURP LEDHEADS, SAMMY HAGAR OLD, PHOTOGRAPH ALL OF IT WAS THE BEST FOR ANY ERA!!!!

  • @Naolt1 I don't know why MTV didn't change their name when they stopped being a Music channel. Pretty lame. I also don't know why anyone would watch MTV now...

  • @Thirdgen83 Are there any radio stations that you listened to 29 years ago still in tact today ? MTV..Same deal

  • @Naolt1 How about Moron Television?

  • Is nice to see my video from my old suspended account, thnx!!

  • Love it! thank you for posting!!!

  • Amazing!! I still have the cassette!

  • ke buena banda!!! ( "o)

  • love these guys

  • In 1981 they opened for Ozzy (Speak of the Devil) in Charleston SC, They stole the show.

  • @robeco7: Unbelievable someone was there too! I agree! They kicked ass at the show at Guillard Auditorium if I'm not mistaken!

  • @robeco7 I agree! I was there and they kicked ass!

  • I forgot how great this song is and what an amazing solo! Gotta be the best solo done in a tigerskin tux in the history of rock!

  • prachtig nummer

  • Damn, that solo kicks ass.

  • I FEEL 16 AGAIN. WEEZE GRAB ME MY MULLET!

  • @1234HELLBOUND Mulletes were popular back in the early00's Blliy ray cyrus..remember him??

  • Adrian and his group hit #39 in Billboard, 3-12-83. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a great week!

  • So underrated... !!!

  • Epic power ballad !! This ranks right up there with Naz's "Love Hurts".

  • Fucking great, timeless song.. yeah man,Coverdale would definitely have added depth and soul to it. Herring is okay, but more of an opera style singer, he sings as if he doesn't know what the lyrics mean and he sways like a schoolgirl who needs to pee. Killer song with one of the most memorable and timeless guitarsolos in any rocksong from any period! Coverdale was very smart to pick Adrian. btw: Vandenberg's got a new track on youtube: 'A number One', classic Vandenberg solo! Adrian's back!

  • This song is pure rock then and still today.

  • BERTJUUHHHHHH! Bert Heerink! fuck yeah?

  • Fucking Classic

  • the guitar riff is unforgettable , killer memories of hot chicks , booze and fukn good times

  • i want to do this karaoke !!!

  • awesome voice, n' awesome music...

  • TIMELESS! ROCK PERFECTION!

  • it feels good ,,, ik hou van deze band

i play the game with my wife

when i makes love to her

    it burning in me

    and it makes me be

  • That is how you do a rock ballad - WOW!!

  • This singer does an able job, but I'll bet David Coverdale could've sent this song right over the edge with his powerful voice....this is a Coverdale song waiting to be done justice...with crazy-ass Tawny Kitaen in the video...lol.

  • @rowdymax1 seriously? The front guy for this band NAILED this song and you want to tell the world Coverdale should have done it?? LOL...

  • @guins99 I love Coverdale, but you are right... Bert nailed this. It can't be done any better.

  • @guins99 @rowdymax1 @Freyja1133

David Coverdale actually was trying to sing Burning Heart though. It almost made it on de Slip of the tongue album. There are 2 vids on youtube were you can hear him trying to sing it. He really ruins it. Ofcourse Bert is the only right singer to do the job.

  • Comment removed

  • @rowdymax1 What makes you think that this is a whitesnake song?

This is pure VAndenberg ...If you don;t think that Bert Herrinck is a a good ahrd rock vocalist.... Let''s hear you sing it !

  • @rowdymax1

Yep the singer here has a decent voice and does an adequate job, just a little too 'straight ahead' and standard. Now someone like David Coverdale in his prime would have pumped a lot more emotion and style into it, along with more nice touches that raise it above what a standard singer would do. Still a very good song though!

  • That guitar-solo Epic!!!!!

  • @theblindoc yh! I borned after it I hate music off today! I want rock.

  • Wow I really thought these guys should of went further than they did. This song just popped in my head the other day sooooo glad I found it on here thanks for posting

  • Bring back the 80s!!!

  • My all time preferred band

  • high school angst flashback!! oh dear lord make it stop...

  • beat song these lads ever did - by a country mile! simply stunning. the LP was pure class too.

  • Adje!

  • Nice Schenker impersonation on the solo...

  • adrian is the guy everyone is familiar with but this singer is incredible

  • The drummer looks a little like Cozy Powell, methinks.

  • Adrian Vandenberg's solo in this one is fucking beautiful....period

  • Yep ~ amen ~ and the stupid radio edit cut out a hunk of it. Glad to hear the full version in this video.

  • Best power ballad of the 80's. Pity it never went anywhere.

  • @gman5531 it was a pretty popular song back then.It was on the radio alot when I was a senior in HS

  • @gman5531 scorpions still loving you is awesome too

  • Matters of YOUTUBE. I started with " you fool no one" by deep purple on California Jam, and I finished hearing "this".. owesome.

  • One of the best guitar solo's ever !!

  • Is it me or does he kind of give off a Roger Daltrey feel? Just the way he moves.

  • Adrian Vandenberg should have toured with Van Halen. They could have called it The Flying Dutchmen Tour. Is the singer Roger Daltrey's son or what?

  • Finest rock quality from The netherlands!

  • VANDEBERG DUTCH PRIDE

  • @fedorvanmegen1

    Vande--->N<---berg !

  • Great band! Were they a one hit wonder of the 80s?

  • they are still one of the greatest bands i've ever heard

  • What a great song!! I could listen to this guy play guitar all day, everyday!!!Just shows that the '80s were the BEST!!!

  • Damn good song period. I love these forgotten gems. Who was that singer?

  • @dudsbalboa: that's Bert Heerink, he did some solo stuff later on and was in and out of rehab, just like a true rocker eh :-)

I met him once, he's a genuinely nice guy.

  • Daemon, thank you for the upload ! Vandenberg will be my favorite hard rock band but to me,they should've drifted over to power metal

  • Vandenberg,my favorite band. The most underrated band of all times!

  • this may seem a little nutty to some of you but, this song takes me back to the mid 70's when music meant something and the band made an effort to entertain you and make an impact in your life even if it was in a small way. the mans voice and his talent dwindles these wannabes!

  • @bill2blue I agree but would add that bands today lack something we had plenty of back then...they lack soul, heartt and true emotion...IMHO

  • Question. Is the drummer the same guy who plays for KORN now?? The style and way he holds the sticks is dead on.

  • @trucker69orso I seriously doubt it. This came out in, what, '83? Korn came out around '94-ish. A. He would've been too old to join a band with guys who were obviously in their late teens to early 20's. B. The styles of music are too drastically different. Not saying Korn are untalented, but I think the drummer of a heavy metal/power band would consider "nu-metal" beneath his abilities. :T

  • @nervouswreck75 I Agree !!!!

  • Love this song!

  • after all the times

    it feels so right

    gent greetz ya

    darkske much respect and love

  • walking down the rocky road

    wondering...

  • Once they where in Geallemuun!!!!! Holland

  • back ten music still had a heart, you trully felt what they where saying was real it trully felt as it was coming from theyr own personal experiences, you could relate with it and realy get the feeling your not alone! now 'music' is just a bunch of noise, overproduced comercial crap, theres more computerefects than artistic input!

  • this is a great song.great band....i remember this on mtv....WHEN....IT WAS A ROCK CHANNEL..

  • @Super70duster Yep. Yo! MTV Raps! was the beginning of the end for that now useless channel. This was a great rock album.

  • the way i see it, the 4 person, like maki love with thier hands, i will make good love to a real woman, while this is on

  • @Super70duster Shit...back when it was music in general!!!!!!

  • @Super70duster true very very true wheeeeeeennnnn it was a music video channel

  • ADRIAN VANDENBERG- fue guitarrista de whintesnake . hard rock

  • Oh Hell YA !

  • yeah! Jos Zoomer playing his kit with all Roto-toms and Staccato kick drums! Gotta love it!

  • I saw Vandenberg in the Spring of 84 along w/Heaven & KISS. Heaven blew these guys off of the stage (so did KISS, but that goes w/out saying.)

Roto-toms were cool back then but they didn't stay in tune that well. Terry Bozzio of Missing Persons had an all Roto-tom kit too @ that time.

  • Gotta love the Roto Toms!! Ha!!!

  • ADRIAN VANDENBERG , fue guitarrista de whitesnake en los 80, s musica con estilo hevi metal ... publicado por . MEARK..........

  • 31 de enero de 1954 holanda . Vandenberg un excelente guitarrista de hard rock .. MEARK

  • Still a fantastic song!

  • @SpikeMichaels All Europeans look alike to you

  • OMG!!! Heard this one for the first time in 1983 (I was 17 then) while "DX-ing" the FM band (a Ham Radio term for long-distance reception, something of a "sport" in Radio) on WDVE from Pittsburgh (95 miles away, a hell of a distance for FM radio). Already a metalhead and guitarist, I was IMPRESSED AS HELL with the guitar work. Searched the local record stores for a solid week looking for this album, found it at a shop 15 miles away specializing in Import albums. The whole album is GREAT!!!

  • @jshorva65 i never heard this whole album, but back in HS we covered it--the hardest part for me was to try and duplicate the pre-solo ,i think it was triple tracked-lol i messed it up quite a few times!!lol the main solo was-is so melodic i picked up my old Charvel, -Nailed it first shot.Great tune!!!

  • @wacmac1 Charvel made some great axes back then, but the ultimate axe is any of the neck-thru models made by BC Rich! I have two of them, a Mockingbird Standard made personally by Bernie Rico Jr. and an Assassin ASM-2 made by the late, great Bernie Rico Sr. himself and autographed in Sharpie underneath the clearcoat on the back of the headstock. There is no beating the sustain of a BC Rich neck-thru, especially with Germino or Marshall with a 1N4007 diode between the EL-34 G2 and preamp B+.

  • @jshorva65 OMG! Killed too many brain cells partying back then. Jackson's Charvel series were great axes, I meant to say. Like I said, though, my two BC Rich guitars are my all-time favorites. Back then, I played Kramer guitars because of low funds. Not bad for the price, but I was eager to upgrade from them ASAP. I used to build my own amps back then, everything from a 15W 1-10 Combo practice amp with 6V6's up to a 100W head using four EL-34's, Marshall-replacement iron, and Celestions.

  • @jshorva65 What are you trying to say?

  • @schorrehenkie -- I was saying that I must have partied a little too hard back then since I didn't remember that Charvel was a series of guitars made by Jackson (a manufacturer's trade name like Chevrolet is to cars as opposed to a manufacturer as GM is to cars) until after I re-read my other Comment. It was a joke about how wild those days really were for us garage band musicians. lol

  • @jshorva65 ah...

  • The burning heart, I have it... love this song, still miss that ........, gave me a brilliant child, a winner. You shouldf have been that for us... but anthony I,ll always love you

    jimmy

  • This song always makes me emotional...

Thanks for the info on Adrian, wasn't aware he painted...

  • I read the story! Wow! I thought his voice sounded familiar! After reading I learned he did well with Burning Heart, but also sang, Here I Go Again, with Whitesnake! Wow! That was his voice! Here I go Again was one of my fave Big Hair Band, Monster Rock Song of all !!!!!!

  • @endylovesmusic Sorry, but you're wrong. Bert did not sing in Whitesnake. Adrian Vandenberg played guitar in Whitesnake.

  • @loupatty1 Oh! Then I misunderstood when I read the info above! Sure sounds like him! lol

  • Awesome song & video !!!! Thanks Indy for the share !!!!

  • Blew me away, what a voice! Thanks for sharing Indy :)
