  • I recognize these alarms. They have them at the doctors' office I go to for physicals, and at the Rondileau Campus Center at BSU. I never heard them go off, but I could see the metal sounder plate most electromechanical horns have through the grille. I'm sure the Rondileau Campus Center still has these in many areas, but a couple other parts of the building have TrueAlerts.

  • I hate code three. But I like it better when it's the buzzer rather than that high pitched cricket on steroids sound.

  • @mgenigma5

    yep, I know that feeling

  • @mgenigma5 Are you referring to the EST Genesis or the SpectrAlert Advances when you made you reference of a "Cricket on steroids"?

  • is this the digital horn?

  • @Coolster8000

    what do you mean?

is electromechanical, I don't know about digital

  • Sounds like Chuck Norris ate beans!

  • @dominoboy08

    LOL

  • sounds so cool

  • that sounds so cool

  • @computer120100

    it does :D

  • @KetchupAndMustard55

I used to be scared of fire alarms, but now I can get very close to them, and the entire time, not once did I plug my ears

  • @KetchupAndMustard55 yeah! i want that in my house not dumb smock alarm

  • My school has thease in the science rooms, they glitch up all the time so they never shut off after a drill and that other shit too.

  • @BarretFox

which part, the horn or the strobe

at my school(AAPHS), from time to time, the horns would silence and the strobes will remain to flash

  • @KetchupAndMustard55 Both. They look similar to this one but they were installed in 2009.

  • If you listen carefully, you can hear a voice evacuation whoop and voice sounding.

  • @TssCman123

Really, I don't hear that sorry, if I did then I missed it

I'll keep my ear open for it

but from what I can tell, the horns are all 9219s

  • @KetchupAndMustard55 0:19 it sounds like the Simplex whoop, and before that is sounds like a male voice.

  • @TssCman123

no, that's just the students making that "Whoop" and the "male voice" you heard was most likely the PA or Public Address Announcer

  • @KetchupAndMustard55 Yeah! I hear it!

  • i thought you can't film in statiums.

  • @SpecializedChild462

I don't think it's illegal to film a fire alarm going off

  • @SpecializedChild462 You can't film people without their consent/permission and you can't film anything that would make sensitive or privacy related information but all the poster did was film a close up of the horn itself. If you look at videos of fire alarm tests like SimplexTech or others a lot of times they film the floor or the walls where nothing personal shows.

  • @Gb755c i see what you mean

  • The strobe on that 9219 flashes a little fast they are supposed to flash at 1HZ

  • Strobe seems to flash a bit fast....

  • @alberjs

yes it did, don't know why

  • @KetchupAndMustard55 The flash rate on -9219's varies. Many of the -9219's at my school flash at 2 Hz.

  • funny how a FIRE alarm went off at an ICE arena.

  • @Eternityglacie

    HAHA :D

  • yeah you can check out my fire alarm videos on youtube go to youtube simplextech9

and i did just uploaded a video this morning because the sirens sounded last night it was a severe thunder storm warning but anyway i am making system test 12 on either june 15th or 16th and i will be getting a new panel for system test 12.

  • A nice healthy 9219.

  • @truckinman86

yep, surprisingly, it's not THAT loud, but loud enough to get your attention.

  • @KetchupAndMustard55 my middle school had 9219s

  • @simplextech9

    awesome

  • @simplextech9 yep except they were in continuous

  • @simplextech9 -9219's are some of my favorite signals. My high school has them, and they sound really cool during a fire alarm. One even flashes twice (like the strobe lights on tow trucks). I'm not sure why this happens, but it is pretty weird (and cool).

  • @Farenheit4051 i bet the strobe on your schools 9219s is probaly out of sync. any way my high school does not have 9219s my high school has the turealerts and they are in code 3

  • @simplextech9 Double flashes are completely unrelated to synchronization. Plus, the -9219 isn't even capable of sync.

  • @Farenheit4051 My high school has these alarms. I dunno if they still have them since the 2004 renovation. They were on continuous.

  • It sounds good. I wish I could have that 9219.

  • @msj191961

    thanks, me too.

  • @KetchupAndMustard55 Are you into fire alarms?

  • @msj191961

    yes

  • @msj191961 Me too!
