this is what i like about WW2 newsreel it doesnt feel like depressing cuz of war but it gives a feel like your just watching looney tunes in techni color

Were these films shown in theaters as morale boosters? If so, audiences who read newspapers must have wondered why we hadn't won the war two years earlier. Those who didn't read must have thought the same thing. How in the world did anybody manage to match these films with what was actually occurring in WW2?
