I am 46 years old soon to be 47 so I am too old to re-enlist. I was on a Seabee base in 2005 when I was working as a FEMA hurricane Katrina damage inspector back then.
I was on the Seabee base in Gulfport, MS when I worked as a FEMA inspector for Hurricane Katrina claims back in 2005. It was ok. I gotta admit staying at the Airforce Inn for only $20 per night was a much better gig than the Red Cross tents at Sea Bee base. When I was in Melbourn, FL and saw the USAF housing Officers on Ocean and Enlisted across from beach I knew the USAF was the way to go. LOL. Just barely joking shipmates. LOL

In the October 1st 2002 NIE report, 16 intelligence agencies told Bush Cheney ect that "Iraq did NOT have WMDs, were NOT a threat to America or Anyone else" & were Not harboring terrorists ..so How do Bush, Cheney and their fellow leaders in the Military Industrial Complex get away with pleading that they had "faulty intelligence of WMDs"??

I should have been either a SeaBee in the Navy or a Paralegal in the Army then went to law school. Instead I was a Storekeeper in the Navy. Dumb ass that I was. Joined USN at 17. Should have joined at age 21. Anyway the SeaBees are a good outfit.

Well I just ended up an SK and in the Navy. I was 17 and just wanted to leave home. I took the ASVAB for the Army and after I had an argument with my mom I called the Army recruiters up. I said I wanna go. They said your recruiters are on leave. Wrong answer. LOL. Navy had me in boot came 2 weeks later. Not knocking the Navy at all. I just wish I had more frocus about what I wanted to do at a younger age. Sometimes I wish I was either a Navy diver/underwater welder = oil rig job or a Seabee.
Don't feel bad. Believe it or not, I went the same rout as you! I started with the Army, even took the ASVAB with them. When it was time to give them a verbal commitment, I decided to check out the Navy. Went in as a GM. Lost that rate to the "moment of trueth" and went in as a SN in Deck. I later struck DC, but that didn't go too well and got out. Two years ago I reenlisted for the Bees, and I like it a lot.
You can transfer to a Seabee Battalion. We always need good SKs!
