lol 2:50 and 3:15 was so dramatic with a pick. Have you ever tried playing this with finger picks? It's hard to learn, but way easier after that. It's the right way to play it, but frankly I like it with the pick because you get such a dramatic sound out of it.
had I tried to do a true version, I would have kept the timing, but I had time constraints and did my own arrangement to it that contained my own sections as well.
So, yes it was intentionally played different, but I understand your frustration with people playing it wrong.
no shit. and the neck thing people sometimes do so the strings dont ring an open note after you let your finger off of it while tapping. AND jimmy page used a normal pick, its called hybrid picking, which is what this guys doing. you obviously dont know this, so i dont think you should be talking at all.
i know what you mean. sometimes i wonder if a band similar to zeppelin came out with impecible musical knowledge, unique styles and diversity, and kickass rockin jams; would anyone even respect them? i mean look at songs like soulja boy. i bet that hack has never taken a music class in his life but he still makes it to the top of the charts. soon the music society afixiates its trends to wont even be music, just like jungle noises or somethin. sry bbut i get emotional when it comes to music.
Yeah- if Led Zeppelin themselves started today and released their first album- would it even make the shelves? Its crazy how the music systems get better but the music is getting worse. I think I'll have to try and do something about that... : )
That was brilliant! I played this song for a talent show, and ive found that even if you do mess up a little, people still think its amazing. that was really good.
that was a really nice job man. im trying to get this piece down...im trying to figure out if i can get away with using a pick or not. did u use one? and where did you get your tab? (if you used one)
I used a pick but kept my pinky ring and middle finger open to play other notes as well. It's tricky at first, but you should be able to get the hang of it. I didn't have a tab for the song, I just figured it out for myself, and as you probably could tell it wasn't exact, and I kinda made up some of my own stuff with it. If you don't know the tuning its, DADGAD. I might be able to help you a bit if you're struggling.
Yeah shaman, you can use a pick and your fingers, it's called Hybrid Picking. I highly recommend learning it asap, I wish I had learned it a lot sooner than I did.
nice job, as a guitarist I was really into Page as a youth. Too bad the recording is a little faint. You might consider putting this away for about a month, then re-recording where the acoustics are better. - because guitar is essential
it wasn't so bad, have you ever played on a stage before? It's a bit getting used to, but once you're out there playing you really tend to forget whats going on around you. Just get into it. I honestly was more worried walking up and setting up than I was playing, regardless of the numerous times I screwed up. Very little people will notice mess-ups unless they know the song really well.
i played flying on the ground is wrong by neil young in buffalo sprigfield last year, and i sang! which was ya know totally nerve racking. i did alright, but all i was doing was strumming five different chords, so this is going to be so different...
lol left handed player on a rigt handed guitar! FTW!!!!!! awesome job dude.
