Anyone who says vinyl IN HERE sounds better than their CD at home as a real cr@ppy system at home. By the way, the vinyl is off-center in this video. ANYBODY HEARD THAT??? Also, your turntable plays fast. At 2:47 when the song goes loud, I can tell your system has a hard time coping.
Haaaaaaaang on. That's a 'Moth Arm' My dad uses one of those on his The Rock MK 1 or 2, to be honest not a bad arm, I like vinyl im just too clumsy so Im using digital because its harder for me to break... for the meantime anyway! but playing bother one after the other, vinyl has noticeably more depth to the sound, even if some clarity is lost due to dust, its a sad price to pay.
the most fun with some new LP the sound was recorded fully digital and edit on computer, but you know what LP have warming the soung on the mid range frequencie that's why you have a feel of better sound.
Wow! I can tell by the Parlophone pound sign logo in place of Capitol's imprint that this must be a british pressing. Cool! Funny thing: I picked up the 180 gram Capitol Vault re-issue awhile back, and for some reason, the side one label was left totally blank-No printing at all. I had thought that was part of the design until seeing. I think I'm gonna go and put on my own copy of OK Computer.
Will you post a digital transfer of this onto YT? I am a big Rega fan - visit my channel to hear a P5, and I would like to hear the quality of the P1 as opposed to the quality of the camera. Mind you this still sounds brill.
..........................This sounds better than my CD/digital copy, and that says a lot when it comes to YouTube's compression. Idk what your problem is, but get your ears checked next time.
@thrillerman83 You prefer your audio filtered through an inexpensive camera microphone over a CD? lmao. Vinyl is good, but get a grip people, you need a turntable or a high resolution recording from vinyl to hear why it's good.
@thrillerman83 Yes. And youtube compression is irrelevant when you factoring in that the recording is from a camera microphone and not the turntables preamp.
I had a demonstration in a shop yesterday. The moment the needle dropped i was a convert, the sound fidelity on these things are amazing. We tried out 'Kind of Blue' I ve never heard it sound so good, i m getting mine next week! Also comparing it to the 1200 is a bit strange considering that is a mixing deck.
technics 1200? - Are you taking the piss?.. This is a Rega record player... How can you possibly compare a technics to a Rega, the Rega is in a totally different class
My advice.. never leave your album cover propped up like that. You're just asking for a stylus and record killing moment if that cover were to fall forward.
See how much I love vinyl. I'm even looking out for yours ;)
Im just trying to get into vinyl myself any websites for records you recomend? and what kinnd of system to you have set up there? Is there truly a sound difference or is it just for the nostalga?
vinyl is making a huge comeback - i have been collecting for 10 years: I dont have alot of money, so my system is good, but not great - i am using a Rega P1 Turntable (New $400) - Denon Receiver (bought used for $75) and a Boxed Surround Sound System (Clearance at Best Buy $150) i would eventually like to replace my speakers when i get the money, but my set-up is doin me just fine right now - There is an amazing difference between Vinyl/CD/Mp3 -
with CD's and especially Mp3's - the highs are cut off/lows are cut off and the music is compressed : Vinyl is the real deal - no chopping of the music - I really didnt notice the difference until i got my new set-up: i was using an old console system from the 90's
not only is the music better, the whole fixation of buying vinyl/checking out full size inserts/record shows/old school music stores - as for websites, if you are looking to buy : ebay is probably the best start - especially since the market is doing well, and ebays sales have gone down (i believe by 30% lateley) so if you are patient, you can find records that are out of print for a very reasonble price - it is an expensive hobby, but well worth it for me - my collection is now over 5,000 LP's
Exactly. You just hit it right on the nail. That is the whole reason I buy vinyl. The experience is totally different. CD's are too easy to deal with. Pop them in play them, fast forward rewind. With vinyl you have to turn the record over. Also you get better resolution covers, inserts, and all that good stuff. Also searching for vinyl is an experience in itself too.
Yes there`s a sound difference, music feels more lifelike , try to get a good turntable like an affordable rega turntable or a pro-ject debut III, cambridge audio also make a good phono preamp the azur 640p not too expensive , because phono preamp built into receiver or amp, is almost always not very good, also a good cartridge like an ortofon om 5 or 10 is a good investment and probably what you see on this video .... a setup like this will sound better than cd and cost under 600-700$....
Is this the Capitol 2008 re-issue? Cause i bought it last week and IT SOUNDS AMAZING.

Been a long time since I've heard this. And even if it's a cd-era album, there's just something sexy about vinyl...good stuff.

Would you mind posting a video of how to set the rega P1 to 45RPM? I seem to be an idiot :\

@404cc lift the platter off and move the belt to the lower cog to get 45 rpm

My P1 spins a little fast. Streophile or some other magazine observed the same thing. I am very pleased with it.
