  • wish they still sold these...great vid.

  • It needs wheels and it's good for pro-am flyers.

  • This is the lightest and most durable plane out there. And Estes discontinued it because?

  • i cant make mine fly as smooth as yours.

  • Hey look, that is Mini Obama in Smallforce one!!

  • My cat chewed on the rudder. Not happy.

  • most awesome mods. looks like it flys like a champ

  • Great video!And you got a nice plane :)

  • front windows are just fake but its still cool! nice video

  • I've decided to use a 45C lipo.

  • Did you run it through a mini ESC, your own reciever and a lipo?

  • How'd you get those mini tamiya connectors from the engines into an ESC?

  • If the camera wasn't shaking it could pass for the real thing.

  • You have to convert this or it's fer shit.

  • 1 guy disliked because he didnt have one

  • I had this...it broke and the battery life sucked ass

  • What's the voltage of the lipo you used.

  • I have this airplane with the thrust moel you origanally get do you have to cut the flaps wire it and put the string for the flaps to move?

  • awsome

    Needs some wheels and runway

  • You should add wheels on it, it will be a sweet landing!

  • Very nice plane.

  • Where did you get this plane?

  • nice i like the it. it looks just like the real one not all you need is landing gear with retracts and you will be set 5 stars

  • I don't have the patience for all of this so I strapped an Estes 'E' engine to the bottom of the plane. I'm taking it out tomorrow. I have no idea what's going to happen.

  • Is it ARF or RTF

  • Super cool :-) mfg aus germany

  • what are these made out of?

  • cool:)

ive always wanted an rc plane when i was little... Time to go to toys r us

  • brill landing gear!!!!! lol thats so cool! i want one! the only thing i'm bad at with this stuff is landing! is it easy or hard in ur view?

  • cool plane

  • what does brushed and brushless motors mean? whats the difference?

  • How does it possible to control the rc plane without the small rc camera?

  • you have good flying skills. great vid. i'm gonna try ebay to find one.

  • OMFG i want that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn.....wish they'd rerelease those things

  • can u help me or tell me how to install the new radio system including hooking up the 4 motors to one esc and finding the cg?

    thanks

  • i have one but its hanging on the ceiling in my office (the room im in now) i had it fer 4 years need to fly it still

  • @thetitanicisdead same thing here, have the 757 also but dont want to fly them, lol.

  • man this is grate looks like fun were can i buy one???

  • Well done ! I've had 2 on the way up (still have one) but never modified it because of the power - weight situation and "semi -controlled crash" characteristic of the stock setup. Now I might have to take mine down from the ceiling and take a page from your book ! Good job !

  • awesome!!

  • nice job on the conversion. 5 stars,

  • @lowrider1812

Hey thanks for the rating - I appreciate it!!

  • @minneflyer where can i get one?

im barely beginning on rc planes and i need one thats great for beginners

  • @minneflyer i have a suggestion for ur plane put wheels in it it would look like the real air force one :) hope u do it and make a video after that and replay me with the comment

  • U should do a scenario with like 3 or 4 jetfighters and this president plane xD

  • @anden191

Great suggestion.... wait until next summer!! We will have some crazy new videos that are sure to please!! Thanks for the comment!

  • how much did it cost you?

  • @DBZTheLegend

I picked this kit up for $75 USD, but I don't think they make it anymore. I would check ebay!!

  • put wheels on!!!! it would looooook soooooo sweeeeeeet

  • I really really really want to add wheels, but I've been so strapped for time lately! If and when I do, I'll certainly post video of take-offs and landings!! Thanks for the comment!

  • does it fly good stock?

  • @pjm5678

Never had a chance to fly it stock - I went straight to the conversion. From what I read though, it doesn't really fly well as a stock thrust-vectoring plane.

  • nice plane where did u buy it from!!!!!!?

  • @TheMalik3124

I picked this plane up from a nice guy on RCGroups - it was collecting dust in his basement. I don't think they make/carry this model anymore (from Estes), but I would try Ebay.

  • where did u get this 747 plz reply

  • Unfortunately they no longer make this model, so your only option of finding one is ebay or rcgroups. I found mine from someone online selling it.

  • This is a great and fun to fly plane. Just so cool to watch and fly it. you need to bring it to the field(s) more ;-)

  • OK. Amazing website, and amazing plane! I seriously want to know, because I also have an Estes Air Force One; How did you learn how to do all of this other than that inspirational video?

  • Hey thanks for the comment! A lot of what you see in this video has been done before, it just takes a little research to find it! I use the RC Forums quite a bit, and added a few little ideas of my own. Glad you like it and good luck with your build!

  • Thanks! I think all I want to do to this is put te horizantal stabilizer into use just so I can flare the plane for landings, and climb a bit fast. Is that possible, to do that, and still have thrust vectoring engines for turns?

  • Sure thing - anything is possible with RC, however I think you'll find it a bit more easy to fly with the ailerons versus thrust vectoring. I bet you could even add a rudder to it and have full control over it. Give it a shot and let us know!!

  • I'm sorry, a couple more question. What battery did you use? Is it the higher voltage, than the higher the power? When you said careful not to burn out the motor, you mean not using full throttle the entire time? I love how all four engines work, and how they are desinged to snap off on rough landings. To me, that was genious. Thanks for yor time! :)

  • I was using a 3s Lipo, 1300mah battery during this flight. The 3s (higher voltage) is a bit much for these motors, but that's why I only fly it around half throttle. It is nice to have the extra power during take-off, but you definitely do not need it during normal flight. The motors are small brushed motors, and will probably burn out soon due to running at speeds higher then what they were designed for. No worries though, should be cheap to replace!

  • Thanks! I might have no choice, because aparently the plane is discontinued.

  • nice fucking sunglasses chief!!

  • L-I-V-I-N brotha!

  • fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck

why is it that i can't be you?

  • Sweet, Very nice.

  • film it in the air, slow it down a little and it will look like the real thing

  • especially 1:42 until 1:48

  • Great Job, and might I say the camera man is superb!

  • you need to add wheels to it

  • ye he does but it still cool as hell

  • Wow really good! And you have such a nice website too!

  • Oh snap - Mr. Dave Powers himself!! Wicked!!

Thanks for the note Dave... I have to admit, you've been my source of inspiration for a few years now! Thanks for the great videos and tips!

  • bloody hell that thing is cool

  • Thanks mate!

  • Great modification I've been thinking of getting one like this. All of the cheap ones are two motor thrust vectering (2CH) and short bodies. I don't think they would be easy to control

  • I've been surprised at how many 2CH conversions have worked out better then anticipated - you should give it a shot and let us see your work!

  • Well I'd like to but first I'm going to figure out my simulator that arrived today

  • nice terms and good flying. solid video

  • Hey thanks for the comment! The 747 is a fun one to convert!

  • nice video, i have one of these, i have never flown it, i dont think you can get parts for them anymore, I like the ugrades, must make it alot easier to fly. Have you every flown it stock? I have the other one too, the 737, actually 2 of them, lol... never flow too :)

  • Hi thanks for the comment! I did not try to fly this plane stock, as the batteries were pretty much worthless out of the box. I've seen a few people fly it stock, and from what I've heard it's a handful!

Hey - if you ever want to get rid of your 747 or 737, please contact me! I'd like to pick up another one sometime.

  • I will keep it in mind, i love the looks of them, have them hanging from my sons cieling, lol....

  • Very cool! Estes definitely made some very cool looking airframes- too bad most of them don't fly stock. BTW - Estes just didn't discontinue this one, they've quit the RC plane market altogether.

  • I had heard that Estes/Cox was going to stop their RC plane production, but wasn't sure if that was a rumor or fact. It's too bad - they did make some pretty neat looking airframes (even if you do have to modify them a bit)! Thanks for the comment!

  • fly it over the statue of liberty and see how many calls you get...lol

  • how would you like to be walking threw the park, look back and see AIR FORCE ONE coming at you! lol to kool!

  • Hey thanks for the comment! The AF1 looks very realistic in flight, and you just can't help but stare at it when she's airborne!

  • WOW!!!... You did a fantastic job with this airplane and the aerial footage was second to none. Great video....looking forward to seeing more :-))

    Cheers!

  • Thanks for the kind words!
