that car is a automatic... so it probably does run 14's due to parasitic loss through the tranny. the automatic trannys (stock ones) in mustangs arent the best in the world and they tend to shift out to quickly plus they also slip a bit under heavy acceleratin.

serious driver error, the s197's will run 8's once you get the timming and a proper burnout. dont dump the throttle on launch. but without any mods they will only run 14's. you may dip into the 13's on a cool night at the track but you wont hit 12's running stock.

I've raced one new mustang gt 5 speed, from 40 til maybe 80 and he pulled away but only like a car and a half and i missed 3rd as well. he had a passenger, but it was a woman and she shouldnt have made a lot of difference in a 300 horse car. anyways, ill probly see you at the autoX next weekend. id love to have a newer gt, my dad told me they improved the understeer on the newer ones. id love to feel how one handles at an autoX
