I have used empathy to counter the stress in my life by repeating the mantra that others have endured much worse than I and survived if not flourished. My Mother often repeated the phrase "if wishes were horses beggars would ride." I twisted this phrase to suit whatever particular troubling situation I found myself involved with and found I could cope with almost any difficult event.
@cantavoidtrite Sorry which lecture were you referring to? The videos I included in this compilation can easily be found on youtube if you have a browse.
so this guy was really changed by the events that occured in a short period of time and was in the very miserable fire lines, which was a horrific life for several weeks. These events completely changed him rapidly so i believe society slowly *corrupt* people to think in a certain way. Propaganda was overused in history because it works ! You can change the people think if their environment is changed as well.. NEW BORN'S ARE NOT CORRUPT...
@MastaMusical Wow, that is really sad to hear. You can bet that his senior officers certainly played a major role in changing his behaviour toward being more destructible. Possibly influences from peers and propoganda back then would have been very strong on his psychology. I think it's probably a lot easier to be desensitised by the Army today and trained to kill and rid yourself of empathy - war video games is a particular example - today it "prepares" you, and excites you at the same time.
Nice ! that is very interesting, i did now stress was not good for the health but not at that point, and also i think bad situations trough your life can affect your brain and the way you act and think. Today in my History course we were reading a letter from a WW1 solider and he says that before the war, he never got into a fight or anything and when he was in the action, he transform himself in a killing machine he said he actually get satisfaction from surprising enemies and kill them....
@saydaysago2008 Thanks for watching - I highly recommend getting the book, it's very informative and reveals a lot of scientific evidence regarding human behaviour and the exact biological processes that accompany reactions to our environment. I could not possibly fit everything into this summary I've produced, there's so much more that is equally as important as what I discuss in the video. By the way I really enjoy watching your videos, you have a very creative style - keep up the good work!
@ZeitgeistMovementUK yeah, since this is the most debated topic against our movement (well, from people who actually understand it anyway), i really need to brush up on this research. I've read a two of James Gilligan's books, and I think this one is next on the list... just wish I could find a ebook of it somewhere.

I want the book, but aggression is presented here in a gendered fashion - hypotestosteronergia is a factor in agro behavior.
