i have a 95 lumina, and of all the things i have replaced, i never thought of the turn signal switch. i thought it was a wiring problem somewhere. thanks for such valuable info!
Just for anyone in the future looking at this, deck screws were strong enough for the outside screws. Drill the hole in the middle, slide the wood over and fit the steering wheel nut a couple of turns, self tap the deck screws until they are just making contact and then crank down the center nut.
Thank you! This is BRILLIANT! As far as I am concerned, you should get the Nobel Prize in Youtubing. While I usually like buying new tools, I am not fond of the expensive, use once tools. You saved me some money and I appreciate it! (...con't)
so can I just bypass my blinker switch? I have the same problem.. I'm not very good at this stuff as it's my first car ever.. I thought I could just wire it from the switch at the pedal to the brake lights??? Mainly because I don't know how to take the steering wheel off? it looks like I would have to take all the plastic panels off?? is it easier than I'm thinking.
ok i have a ploblem with me left blinker but 4 my brake light problem i just tighten up my stop light switch. I'm sure it was faulty to me turning switch so imma check that out this weekend.
The brake lights weren't working except the one in the rear window. It is common problem. The power from the brake pedal switch goes up to the blinker switch on the steering column then back to the tail lights. The blinker switch in the steering column goes bad, that is what I replaced.
