  • funny thing but it look like your the only human who can draw with open source software)

  • @damnhereiam The tools are there. i use them. and also David Revoy, Mozart Couto, Jose Gobo, Griatch, Sam Hutsinson...

  • @TheShockito dont get me wrong. i love your art, but the tools aren't popular, for what reasons. Maybe it's hard to use. i don't know how to draw anyway so cant tell what is wrong. thanks for open source support anyway.

  • @damnhereiam thanks , glad you like it. And yes they are not so popular like photoshop, but they can do the job. at least for me. i have painted with ps, corel and more programs and finally i see that opensource is good for my paintings by now. future? who knows but i think it will be even better, if we talk about "painting" you only need some brushes colors and technique :D

  • It won't take the link. Go to wikihow.com and search for MyPaint.

  • I write articles about a lot of things and one of them is graphic software. Here is what I wrote about MyPaint. Would like to write more about it if you can provide me some info.

  • I have Windows 7. My version of MyPaint doesn't look anything like that. Is that the Linux version?

  • @teresatrimm No, that's Windows.

  • A question about theprogram , does it matter at what zoom level you create/paint ?

It seems that when the size of certain brushes is raised , the resolution gets lower

  • @WARDISWARD Hi, really does it matter, what i do is open the program and press the "-" twice. this way i have a big space to start to work with and then if i need to refine the work , i zoom the picture.

  • which version of Mypaint U've been using for this video

  • Its great, thank you

  • very impressive the painting and more impressive the oil painting texture

  • BTW I got I have corel painter X, photoshop CS5, Manga studio EX 4.0, and GIMP with GPS - even with all those programs, your ramon package in MyPaint is still my favorite tool for sketching.

  • @Bidon45 Thanks a lot for the comment. it is good for me to see that people apreciate all the hard work that i have done. i hope you enjoy it a lot. please don´t doubt to mail me some sketches .i like to see what people can do with these tools.

  • You are incredibly helpful and inspirational with all your videos and the work you do in free lower quality software. It really shows that the user is the most important part. Not the tool. Keep up the good work.

  • @Bidon45 Bidon, you are wrong there. These Open Source software (and operating systems) are better than their close source cousins. I am a Ubuntu Linux user and all of my programs that I use ARE Open Source. Let's take Open Office for example. It find it better than MS 2007(9?) because its layout is still like MS 2003. Other features that I like are you can turn of the spell check while you type, er, think of any (sorry!). Also, if there is a bug, you only need to report it and...

  • the community of programmers can fix it. Getting help is very easy also, just post your problems on their forums and someone will help you.

  • @Bidon45 Sorry for my rumble.

  • Really nice painting. Colours, vase, background, all. Great to zoom in and see the texture. 11/10
