It's autotuned, there was actually a story about this on the LA Times. Same goes for the MTV Unplugged. It's not only Katy, they always use autotune for Unplugged. Katy is a consistently DREADFUL singer.

People need to understand that it's not easy for an artist to keep their voices perfect. With all the touring and the guest appearances, there WILL be times when your voice weakens. Unfortunately for Katy, it had to happen on the X Factor and the AMA Awards. Shame.

Her voice was at its best here, though. Shuts up her detractors perfectly.
