Sorry to burst you bubble but even though the ampage isn't high enough to kill you, it still isn't anywhere near 500,000 volts. It takes 30,000 volts to clear 1cm of air space at sea level. If you look at the gap between the two inward facing prongs on the taser, they are probably about 2cm apart, which means they need a little over 60,000 volts for electricity to make the jump. That's about standard for a taser.
