There's a rule that all dog owners should be aware to follow. If you have a large-breed dog, DO NOT have those lever-style doorknobs! It will take a smart dog perhaps a week to figure out that if he puts his nose underneath the lever and lifts up, the door will open. Once he makes the initial discovery, he will do it every time he feels like it, in mere seconds. He may bother you in the bathroom, or worse, end up out the front door and on the street.
we had a dachshund that used to be in the backyard late into the evening, and would knock (by scratching) the door with her paws when she had had enough for one of us to open the door. she is resting in the same backyard now.
wow. what a genius dog. he's the most intelligent animal that ever lived! ever! no other animal--in the long and storied of life on this planet--has been as smart as this dog! what a major and unparalleled accomplishment by this exalted k9. stunning! magnificent! majestic!
Ha-ha, my dog uses her paws to turn the knob. We raised her from a baby puppy and she's learned to act like us. She sits at the table and watches TV. She hates water, which I can't understand. She's a Weimeraner. :S
@samuel005 And I'm not impressed with your typing/grammer skills. At least your cat has skills.

Whatever is on the other side of that door is going to get torn to shreds. Dachshunds are so mischievous like that.

My cat can open any door that is not locked just by sticking his pawn under it and pulling it.
So my not impressed ol
