As I said, Japan was helped out considerably by other nations due to the Korean War, among other things. The effects of radiation from the blast only affected people within 1-2 kilometers of Hiroshima/Nagasaki. While some terrible things happened during the occupation (rape and so on), the US also introduced democracy and educational reforms. No such effort from western countries in Africa.

I would go a little further than cenk in 2:30 Minutes. He did not only crumble like a house of cards, he was planned and intended to crumble. It's like, when the two parties don't want to pass some legislation, but the people do, they will just discuss who will do the proposal and who will play the opposition part. And everything will be played out as if the opposition was too strong or the proposer too weak. Game can continue because the other party will be at fault, not the proposer.

The public option absolutely necessary. 60 people die everyday due to lack of insurance. That's 20,160 people every year, young and old, that die because of a lack of insurance.
That number doesn't even count the lives lost due to the fact that insurance companies make profit from denying people the best healthcare possible. Considering how much is spent on war, the stimulus and the bailout, this is an absolute priority. People are dying. America can afford it.
