20mins on low heat sounds about right...think about it, if you cook bacon for 20mins on high heat then there's your burnt bacon! :P But there are many ways to cook bacon and many ways to enjoy it!

How hell to you do think they make bacons in hotels etc. surely they ARE NOT going wait for pans to cool off if they have cook like 30kg it for each day... this way is still wrong if you want them fast use hot pan fill pan up but dont overlap anythign and you have to turn so that they dont burn. and then. why in hell you use paper toll get that cool fat off them its like stealing some flavor from it. just let it rest before serving(you can do other thinks while its resting)

This guy's doing it wrong.

What you do is this: pre-heat your pan to a medium-high heat. Once it's there, toss in the bacon. If it overlaps a BIT, no big deal. By the time the actual cooking begins, it's shrunk a bit anyway, so that corrects for overlap. Once you see a bit of crispy golden colour on the underside, flip them all and power down the heat to around medium. This ensures the second side eases its way to perfection.
