Perhaps the reviewer would do better to acknowledge each cars individual strengths, rather than favor the latter for some reason other than that of which most people would favor. The accords more sporty because it is smaller, its going to handle better. But the trade off is size. The Taurus has better comfort at a trade off of handling. Really, considering its a family sedan for cross country whats going to do better for costumer appeal. There on equal terms in there own aspect of appeal.
Accord is better built, has better gas mileage, handles better, accelerates a lot faster and is cheaper then the compared Ford. If you want the SHO, then spend the almost $40,000 for it. Or even better, get the BOSS 302, you won't get better gas mileage, but you will have a helluva lot better time driving!!
You can't even compare the two. It's like people trying to compare the Accord to the Maxima. I mean common? The Taurus and Maxima sit in their own categories. Accords performance is better? Undoubtedly the Accord could win in handling situations, but as for the rest of it, I think the video was very biased...the Taurus is a larger and heavier car (Not to mention safer!), which makes me give it extra points.
I noticed they optioned out the Taurus just to give it a higher pricetag which is bullshit. The Ford has more standard equipment while getting equal fuel rating. IMO, the Ford won. Who gives a shit if the Honda gets marginally better performance, nobody is autocrossing either one of these cars.
As I was saying... The warranty covers replacements of the taillights. I've ridden my friend's Accord similar to the one in this video. It's got a good ride and feels roomier than our Taurus.
I think if you want a good quality car, you should get German. Our Passat has high quality materials and the pieces fit perfectly.
I would recommend the Taurus if you want more for your money. Our Taurus Limited came with many features such as SYNC and heated power seats for the price of a base 3 series
Feels more roomy than the Taurus? Maybe their about the same. The Volkswagen Passat is an awesome car. Newer Model Engine Performance and Reliability is excellent. Well put also.
My dad has a 2010 Taurus Limited with the same exterior but it has a black interior. It can get to 60 mph in 7.4 with the paddle shifters. It does have about 26,000 miles so he engine's been "broken in".
I love the car, although it does have some problems with quality. The doors and hood and trunk do not line up properly. The hood actually sticks out a lot at the front. Also, after two months, the chrome on the taillights peeled. I researched this and happens to many of these cars. The warrant

I had a Toyoto for the last 10 years. No problem but its pushing 200K miles and its time for a change. I just bought a 2011 taurus SEL. I have done lots of research Ford of today is not the ford of the 90's. The quality is just as good and much of there engineering has been taken from the German playbook.

Good. The SHO is an upscale version of the Regular Ford Taurus while the Honda Accord is just a base model of the Honda Accord LX V6. So then it can be said that this comparison is null and invalid.
I do not know which car has more room. I assume the Taurus does. Reliability wise both are the same. The Taurus looks bigger and more bulkier which is good. The Accord looks smaller but can handle better in performance situations.

Full size trucks are better . This Taurus gets 100k mileage and it instantly becomes a laundry list of repairs ! 2 major repairs this year and 3 minor .Major meaning over $500.00 . Chevy Monte Carlo i had was the same ! The GMC and F-150 full size trucks i've had were more reliable and did well on up to 200 and 300 k mileage . These more affordable cars are ok if you plan on trading at 75 k mileage .

Perhaps the reviewer would do better to acknowledge each cars individual strengths, rather than favor the latter for some reason other than that of which most people would favor. The accords more sporty because it is smaller, its going to handle better. But the trade off is size. The Taurus has better comfort at a trade off of handling. Really, considering its a family sedan for cross country whats going to do better for costumer appeal. There on equal terms in there own aspect of appeal.

Accord is better built, has better gas mileage, handles better, accelerates a lot faster and is cheaper then the compared Ford. If you want the SHO, then spend the almost $40,000 for it. Or even better, get the BOSS 302, you won't get better gas mileage, but you will have a helluva lot better time driving!!

You can't even compare the two. It's like people trying to compare the Accord to the Maxima. I mean common? The Taurus and Maxima sit in their own categories. Accords performance is better? I personally think these reviewers are biased, and will favor imported cars hands down. They will rather nit pick on EVERY SINGLE thing on an American car. So again, another bogus review. An Accord is a piece of GARBAGE compared to the SHO. If you compare the base Accord to the base Taurus, both cars suck. However, add the Navigation package and the Taurus is the better car, the roomier car and the techier car. Accord's technology sweet is BULLSHIT.

The Honda Accord EX-L V6 is the top-of-the-line model. The Taurus Limited is the second to the top-of-the-line. I don't see where the Taurus SHO was invited. Accord also has a standard 4-cylinder while Taurus has a standard V6. Let's compare the base models and see the performance numbers then.

@mark0101 so accord is better porformence but JD power gives the accord an inital quality of 5/5 stars with 19mpg city and 31mpg hi way they also give the accord 4.5?/5 reliability. the taurus gets a 4.5/5 inital quality with 16mpg city and 28 hi way and it gets 4 star reliability. when you look at it on paper the taurus has 263hp - 365hp while the accord has a 171-271 hp so yes the taurus is faster and should porferm better but it doesnt..the accord is a more fun and enoyable car to drive..

As I was saying... The warranty covers replacements of the taillights. I've ridden my friend's Accord similar to the one in this video. It's got a good ride and feels roomier than our Taurus.
I think if you want a good quality car, you should get German. Our Passat has high quality materials and the pieces fit perfectly.
I would recommend the Taurus if you want more for your money. Our Taurus Limited came with many features such as SYNC and heated power seats for the price of a base 3 series

My dad has a 2010 Taurus Limited with the same exterior but it has a black interior. It can get to 60 mph in 7.4 with the paddle shifters. It does have about 26,000 miles so he engine's been "broken in".
I love the car, although it does have some problems with quality. The doors and hood and trunk do not line up properly. The hood actually sticks out a lot at the front. Also, after two months, the chrome on the taillights peeled. I researched this and happens to many of these cars. The warrant

I had a Toyoto for the last 10 years. No problem but its pushing 200K miles and its time for a change. I just bought a 2011 taurus SEL. I have done lots of research Ford of today is not the ford of the 90's. The quality is just as good and much of there engineering has been taken from the German playbook.

Full size trucks are better . This Taurus gets 100k mileage and it instantly becomes a laundry list of repairs ! 2 major repairs this year and 3 minor .Major meaning over $500.00 . Chevy Monte Carlo i had was the same ! The GMC and F-150 full size trucks i've had were more reliable and did well on up to 200 and 300 k mileage . These more affordable cars are ok if you plan on trading at 75 k mileage .

They should do such tests not 0-60 times and horsepower. It's all about the refinements you get for the money and the Taurus wins in that area.

Their fuel sipping compacts brought us back to life, no doubt. And look how many more jobs and all the new automotive technology Japan brought over here. Sadly now, we rely on them too much, as with China. Hopefully, one day we'll be able to get back on our own feet, just like Canada is right now.

Good because of the gas crunch and bad because they've bought too much of their cars to nearly kill the American Automotive industry and I think it was the Germans who brought the technology and innovation. Japan brought reliability and low price alternatives plus a much more advanced way of producing the cars.
I don't think China did anything to the Automotive industry except doing the manufacturing.

you idiot. that's how japanese cars are always better than american cars. why wouldn't speed and agility be a factor when comparing? accord has all the comfort BETTER aesthetics and BETTER power and is MORE nimble! now that's up to you if you don't want performance outta some shit u pay 35 g's for. u talking about SHO? lol congrats ford for making a 400 horse power car with a huge ass engine only achieving 5.5second 0-60. engineering is in hand of the japanese and europeans

you know what a compact efficient engine is? same thing which americans have no fucking idea about. dodge makes 6.1 liter engines yielding a whopping (lol) 350 horses which can be beaten by a 2.0 civic si any day in any whether condition. same as europeans all the performance they put out only needs a 2.0 or so displacement...

how is it that both cars have a 3.5L v6, and yet the accord produces more power? Honda is definitely better.

by far the slowest 0 to 60 in the accord i have ever seen . the v-6 can pull almost 6 seconds on any given day your doing something wrong lol

Man, that Accord looks like it's going to tip over in the slalom....looks very "squirrly" while the Taurus looks alot more secure and planted in the slalom....and I'm an Accord driver....albeit a 2005 and not the current gen....I'm not a big fan of it even after I test drove one....I'm thinking the Taurus is much nicer looking...I'd definitely consider one when I'm ready for a new family car

@Mrjmoyer78 Well thats because they need you to put more money into your own economy instead of in the Japanese one... This is a bias review... You should go test drive one for yourself and get your own personal review!! I have and the accord EX-L is much better!!! Even though the Taurus has made big come back and the guy at the dealership was trying to tell me how much better it is it still pales in comparison..
