  • fantastic reporting

  • I have nothing but respect for the police. Yes, some of them take their job too far and violate civil rights but given the way protests have gone in this country for years, I'd say they're doing one hell of a job. I can't imagine doing that. Thousands vs. hundreds? And they do it without asking questions. People try to get a response from the police but I think they do a great job. Thank you for putting yourselves on the line.

  • Videoeris: I have nothing but respect for the protestors. Yes, some of them take their mission too far and violate minor laws, but given the way the authorities and police have been behaving in this country for years, I'd say they are vindicated.

Thousands of the unarmed vs. hundreds of those armed to the teeth?

"And "they" do it without asking questions." The cops should be asking questions! Blindly following orders is unacceptable. They should re-read the Constitution & oaths of office.

  • god those people at the RNC are fuckin stupid and pathetic

  • THESE white liberals are antiwar cuz they dont want to die....they dont give a shit about Iraqis

  • wow U R duMb

  • VOTE THIRD PARTY

  • Great video, why is it that only the dirtiest looking druggies show up to these protest, I find it a bit amusing that they are not out there working in the middle of the day, I would look a lot differently upon them if they were "working class Americans" Obama is all hype, He is in my town today and the only people that goto see him are the non-working government cheese collection drains of society. The only change is what they want out of me, more money for wastefulness more taxes. F that!!!

  • because we all know people in suits and ties are such law abiding citizens and commit no crimes against humanities.what a ass you are to judge people for their clothing and hair style what a shallow asshole!maybe they cover their faces because they dont want to go to the death camps they have instore for all of us that includes uptight anal retentive bigots and snobs like you.

  • Hey, rblwoaclu, he's making a point that half the people protesting are little more than spoiled brats who know very little in the way of world affairs and have yet to work for a living. They don't really care what happens in the world they just joined in because they jumped on the "the government is evil!" bandwagon like most. It is easy to be against the war for these people because they don't know or care about what we've accomplished or how iraq has improved from the war, they're too ignorant

  • i agree with parts of your statement but feel the more the merrier however violence and destruction are never an acceptable means. But I also must respond by saying that most of the instigators were cops dressed up like that I saw videos of arrested protestors and they had cop boots on,alot of these instigators are undercover,I know cops and i know what they do.some work for black water.I work 6 days a week 2 jobs and dress like a hippie I have my own home and got one ticket in my whole life.

  • Good for you, but all the cops do is stand ther and intervene only if things get out of hand. I highly doubt that the cops would send people out there to instigate something, they wouldn't risk a riot in which people could get killed. All the protestors have to do is not mess with the cops and they'll be fine, apparently some of them believe that they don't have to obey the law if they don't respect it.

  • Did you take offense to my comment? Are you one of the drains on society, if not then why get so bent out of shape, if someone doesn't pay taxes nor give a shit about their own life i.e. drug use, no ambitions then why the fuck would anyone who works hard for a living and pays 40+ percent to taxes give a shit what they think they are not being forced to serve our country, in Vietnam people protested because they were drafted and had no choice but these little babies don't have to do shit!

  • yeah to be honest I am a little offended.since when does a mans worth depend on the things he has or doesnt do?are you jealous of their freedom because you can be free to.And i work 6 days a week two different jobs and my husband breaks his ass to pay the taxes for a war we dont support and paying the taxes of assholes who work for fortune 500 companies and drive humvies home to their mansions and have an expence account in the caymans and a summer house in the hamptons.

  • A man's worth doesn't have anything to do with what he has, because god knows you can't take anything with you when you pass and life is finite. However I am heavily offended when not working drains on society take for granted the freedoms this country was founded on. When someone wants me to feel sorry for them because they have never tried hard at anything there entire life. I have a lot of respect for people working 2 jobs, I personally work 6 days a week, while my fiance is finishing school

  • I am not speaking up for slackers they reap what they sow,Im speaking for the poor. The rich man lays the burden on the working poor to care for the needs o the poverty stricken, they eat steak some dont eat at all.some settle for hamburger helper.the waste in this country is disgraceful and all the things i thought i wanted may have been true yesterday but not today.

  • Whats wrong with hamburger helper that's one of my favorites (beef stroganoff), I think we need not worry about people in other countries and take care of our own, but lets face the facts government should stay out of our lives, if I can't pay for food why should that be a problem for some else to solve, if I can't afford a roof over my head then I should get a better job. Some people fight for what they have, everyone falls down sometimes it's just having the courage to get back up that differs

  • nickf06gli: a large part of our population works 2 & sometimes 3 "part-time" jobs which don't provide enough hours to make an employee eligible for benefits. And because most of these jobs don't provide a living wage (minimum wage) and because these people's wages are just as heavily taxed as everyone else, they are truly poor. They live paycheck to paycheck. And God forbid they get seriously sick or injured because they can't afford to miss work & would be bankrupted by the medical costs.

  • As the economy continues to slide, employers-- in order to maintain profit margins-- are down sizing by creating more part-time jobs so that they don't have to provide benefits. Some are simply laying people off & forcing them into unemployment. Anyone who's collected unemployment insurance knows you can't live off the pittance it pays.

If jobs are disappearing, what are people supposed to do for work? How are they supposed to support themselves and/or their families?

  • The corporate industrial complex which has squeezed out or bought up all its competitors & squashed any kind of real competition is nothing but a greedy beast. Now that "it" owns almost everything, it's got to do something to keep investors happy. How does it do that? It decreases wages to workers, it creates more part-time positions with no benefits, it lays workers off, it sends jobs over seas where workers work for pennies, it imports workers from other countries who will accept lower wages.

  • nickf06gli: you can't "get a better job" if there are no jobs to be had.

  • You can always relocate, I'm from Pa where there are no really good jobs, I now live in VA I started working at basically minimum wage and in 4 yr have quadrupled my income. People who do the minimums get what they deserve no matter what company you are in you can always move up, all it take is hard work, if there are no good jobs to be had, find another location to get what you want for yourself and your family. Get one job and work 5 times as hard, it will pay huge dividends

  • Nickf06gli: Great. You'd further divide the American family by having them chase "good" jobs from one end of the country to the other (which they won't find) in an attempt to correct for the damage the corrupt system has done to our economic infrastructure.

Now more than ever we NEED our families and friends to be nearby. We need them to help us raise our children (who can afford good daycare?), and to help if we get sick, laid off from work or lose our homes.

  • Nick06gli: we need to stay right where we are and demand accountability from our representatives in government.

We need corrupt politicians fired from their offices. We need loopholes in the law which allow greedy corporations to rape and pillage our economy at whim, to be closed. We need a constitutionally sound taxing structure which does not rob from the poor to give to the rich. We need to stop patronizing businesses who import cheap labor and export the jobs that we need right here.

  • nick go outside you fuckin idiot.

  • Great you can't think on your feet so you choose to state your point by sinking to second grade level, but maybe I'm over your brain comprehension level here. "Go outside" Only thing I will see is your lazy ass drinking a forty holding a sign that says Help homeless lazy piece of shit that needs more money to buy booze, and I need an access card because I live in a state where communism is running wild, oh yes that's right California is a bankrupt state, lets try that at a national level moron!

  • George Washington (February 22, 1732[1][2][3] -- December 14, 1799) served as the first President of the United States of America, (1789--1797),[4] and led the Continental Army to victory over the Kingdom of Great Britain in the American Revolutionary War (1775--1783).

  • Yur a shallow minded FOX DITTO.

  • Haha! Yet another example of hippies (liberals)without direction, common sense or intelligence..but with a LOT of free time on their hands..Yes, the best part is watching "hippies for peace" protesting "angrily". Kind of defeats the purpose, doesn't it? And as for the individual who said he was clean and now a productive member of society..good on him.. oh because wearing a bandana around your face with other druggie hippies and stomping your feet like spoiled children is always productive..

  • Hmm make youself look like a gang banger or a terrorist. Now that sure sends a message of hope and change. As far as Congress they did vote for war. No there was not a declaration of war but it still went to Congress to be voted upon. The Congress voted and it was passed. So really is it illegal? Bush never ordered one shot to be fired until Congress voted for war. So you need to rethink your argument a bit more. This is not the war that deserves to be protested.

  • One of the stipulations of the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 was that Bush was required to prove that Iraq was somehow "behind" the 9/11 terrorist atrocities as well as that it possessed weapons of mass destruction; in violation UN resolution. We now know that the evidence produced was false, and it's difficult to postulate that the deception was not purposeful. Hence, illegal. On top of that, the US violates UN resolution and the Geneva convention.

  • While I may not have agreed with the war, it WAS LEGAL. Saddam violated the UN resolution when he did not allow for full inspections. The resolution called for force just on that basis alone. It may have been a loose argument, but it was there nonetheless. This is the same for the "stolen" elections. Our election system may be broken. But instead of working to fix it, we falsley declare that the elections were illegal under a just system. See the difference? No real change.

  • they should dress like nazi storm troopers instead.like the black water secret cops.
