  • could u give me the dimensions

  • @MrDavidsherps Both cages are approximately 4'x2'x3', and then they both have an 8'' gap above for the lighting. Let me know if you have any other questions!

  • Very neat enclosure. You said she was a little monster when you first got her, is that typical of red tails?

  • @jamezsutherland Thank you! Yes, red tailed green ratsnakes are well known for typically having a nasty temperment. Most wild caught specimens never really tame down, but most cb and juvenile ones can be tamed with consitent and gentle handling. But even the one in this video will still ocasionally bite me when she is startled. I also find that I am most likely to be bit as I am removing them from the cage, so use of a hook when doing this is quite helpful sometimes.

  • Awesome cage, I just got one of these guys in a trade today, he's in a 30 gallon now, but I'm planning on converting an old dresser into something he should just love.

  • @PinkyIsBlue Sweet! I am sure you will really enjoy yours! Good luck with your custom cage! That should make a really nice enclosure!

  • love how you concealed the lights in the top there its really clever great cage for an awesome snake :)

  • @jalfcat Thanks! Yes! Red Tailed Green Ratsnakes are awesome! :D

  • So what are you going to put in the bottom cage?

  • @linzee4584 I will probably put my Tiger Ratsnake (Spilotes pullatus) in the bottom cage once he is bigger, but until then it will probably remain empty.

  • i want a red-tailed rat snake

  • She is very pretty.

  • so jealous of both the snake and cage. Love them both. maybe once i get a bigger space for my corn snakes i will attempt to build something like that. how long did it take you guys to build it? and btw def liked this video, and added to my favorites.

  • @ems7572 Thanks man! It took us a really long time, but this was partly due to the fact that we were using pieces of plywood we already had around. I am sure it would have gone a lot faster if we had used all new sheets of plywood instead of making mismatched pieces work. We just worked on it every now and then over a four month period. This next summer I am hoping to make another stacked cage system, but with a slightly different design (hopefully better).

  • Nice cages man, and nice Gonyosoma! They're some of my favorites but no one on youtube seems to make videos on their enclosures. Thanks for the info.

  • @Bodacious468 Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed the video, and I hope it was helpful!

  • Thanks! Well, I don't handle them really that much (once a week for each snake is very normal for me), but when I get a new aggressive snake I work very hard to get it okay with being handled.

  • Very nice set up dude. I really like the kind of variety you have in snakes too, you must handle them alot they look really tame.
