Cameraman should focus more on the treatment vs. the therapist - - one can still her when she's speaking, but most viewers want to see how the treatment is done. Sorry to seem picky ...just a suggestion.
The video leaves as many unanswered questions as it answers. Now, to be fair there probably wasn't time enough to address it in the time allotted, but I still think the main thing the video failed to make clear is whether or not this is relaxing. There were some things about hot stones and whatnot, but I am still uncertain about the level of relaxation this technique provides, or if it is even relaxing at all. Perhaps it deserves a second viewing, as there is a lot to absorb here.
i've heard thats its one of the most relaxing massages you could get because there is constant heat applied throughout the massage, but i also heard the stones can feel really hot so i guess it all depends on your heat tolerance!
well whether it is relaxing or not really depends on the customer's preference, doesn't it? i think (based on these videos) that the hot stones themselves do release the tension in muscles quickly and that makes them easier to massage, so hot stone may well just be part of a different massage.
I only wish she would say "relax" more. Every time she says it, I get more and more ..you guessed it!..relaxed. Sounds a little Sarah Palin-ish at times, too.
Please stick to the idea of this hot rock massage as a relaxing massage. Without critical detailed knowledge of soft tissue structures massage does little to "treat" patients. Please be careful to not use your white smock and limited education to influence your clients to belief you are any type of health care professional.
Yeah, it's the age old psychological Etiquette of Submission, when one don's a white uniform.
Little do these people know that their spine is in great danger when some beauty therapist who knows very little about human physiology and anatomy, decides to manipulate a 'knot'.
How ridiculous. You obviously are fairly clueless if you honestly believe that massage therapy does not solve or treat problems. It's sickening to think there are people out there that believe that all problems have to be solved by a doctor when so many problems are easily fixed through things like massages, proper relaxation, exercise, and complete body health. Not running to a doctor for drugs. Keep your wrong opinions to yourself good sir.
Read his comment again. I don't think he's denying the benefits of a good massage, instead criticizing the hot stone technique applied by a seemingly inexperienced therapist. That's all.
Only a competent therapist with a complete knowledge of soft tissue structures including fascia, muscle, ligament nerve with diagnostic skills and in depth biomechanical education can hope to effectively solve and fix soft tissue dysfunction. Without this knowledge massage is essentially useless.
Many massage therapists cause problems by attempting to "fix" people by actually insulting tissue and reenforcing a culmulitive injury disorder.
