this game had amazing graphics and still looks pretty sharp even with todays standards, its games like this that show off the power of the DC, man is this game fast and that is something the ps2 had a hard time doing especially on unreal tournament where the DC had no trouble, and not to mention back then it supported online play for this game and UT and ps2 had none, such a great console...one of the best in my books, im gonna go play right now! he he.
it's true what the ps2 UT was shit.DC version was way better in graphics (resolution, textures, colours,lighting etc.)and was way faster.DC 60 fps, PS2 30 fps.however in quake 3 ps2 wins.maybe in graphics was in the same level as dreamcast, but ps2 version runs at 60 fps and DC at 30 fps.

that's true, you have right. DC version is better in balance. just i have an ''obsession'' with fast gameplay. i have a high sense of speed/fps in a video game. i'm a freak about fast gameplay! but at last i think, as you said, online it's way more important than speed!

This game is still awesome. The frantic music, the quick fire weapons, the cpu nicking medal points. So many memories. Because of this i'll be loading up OT on the DC this weekend. Wife hates the 360 so she'll be gutted when I break out the DC. UMP is the best machine gun though.
what an awesome little console with such great games... I bust mine out at least once a year to play some old favorites. I only found out about this game last year and it has become a new favorite of mine. Really wish I could have known about it back in the day!!
Damn! sega should do the same thing they did with virtual on and release this game on the ps2 with Lan so it can be play on Xlink or at least put it on XBLA!!
The only thing I didn't like about this game were the small maps and the range of movement (it seems obviously optimized for a controller, as with a mouse you can't look 360 in any direction like in say Q3 or UT). I never tried MP though, which is apparently what it's all about. Are there still servers for this game?
The game was not optimized to use a controller at all. In fact, the game shipped with a mouse. You'll get very frustrated trying to use a controller for this game.
@WSXnTNA4Life I never played Quake :( but yeah Outtrigger is THE SHIT!!
I don´t know why most of the new games are shitty, just great graphycs but shitty and boring gameplay :/
