  • Have you ever thought to yourself "boy if that person were saved, he'd be a force for the kingdom". Some unbelievers are more loving and giving than believers. So I don't know how anyone can say that someone who doesn't believe in Christ is automatically evil or against Christ. God can use several things to speak to our hearts, yes - even things created by unbelievers.

  • it is very easy if you read throughout the Bible. a good quality does not justify everything a person is or does. murderer can be willing to share his drink with someone, but it doesnt mean hes trustable or safe to be around. it takes no act on mans part to be against God and His will, but it requires salvation from that man to be on Gods side. not for God's sake, but for man's, to rescue him from his own destruction through sin

  • I agree, but I wasn't referring to salvation here.

  • No need to be hostile. I was just stating my opinion. I find it interesting that several believers lump unbelievers all in the same category. don't forget that the only real difference between us and them is that we are redeemed. There are "good" people who are unbelievers - good in that they are not as selfish as most and look out for the needs of others.

  • all unbelievers are all sinners, i agree that there are sinners with good qualities, but they are still sinners, and in need of salvation. that would be like discriminating a race of people, based on one thought. sinners still need salvation, unless they like heat and torture!

  • No question that all mankind is in need of a savior. But we are all sinners (whether we are believers or not). But I do not believe that everything that comes from an unbeliever is evil. On the contrary, I believe that somethings that come from unbelievers God can use.

  • i believe that some things can be used, but not alot. its all in how its being used and the motive on each end. the main reason secular and worldly music is wrong for Christians according to the Bible is because God said dont do it, anything else is disobedience, and it (secular, worldly)carries an evil spirit with it.

  • you are a false prophet!!!!! you're encouraging or should I say deceiving people by throwing in "oh it sounds christian to me" the non christians don't sing about or to the christian God/Jesus!!! do a little research and you'll find out they sing directly to satan!!! and if not to satan to anything else that will not glorify God.

  • Okay perfect example u said Mchael Jackson has a song called "Keep The Faith"!!! but look at him now and look at his other songs he is not walking wit the Lord!!! 1st he committed a sin by transforming himself!!!

So why listen to a person of such character and its only one song the rest do not glorify anything but man himself

  • I believe in that partially, but who is to say who is a believer and who isn't? There are Christians who sing secular music because it is their livelihood. That doesn't make them any less Christian.

  • well, honestly, the Bible says who is saved and who is not based on their lifestyle, who is going to Heaven and who is not based on their lifestyle, and day to day life. its not a mystery that ozzy osbourne isnt going to Heaven if he doesnt change, the same applies to elvis and 2pac, live a life of sin you go to hell. its in the Bible, i didnt write it, but i did read it.

  • I couldnt have said it better man....

  • @brocliffclgi What's this about lifestyle?

"You are not saved through your works, but through grace". But then the bible is chalk full of contradictions anyway.

  • because they choose to live a life contrary to Christ, and sing songs that are contrary to Christ does not make them Christian. you will either hate one master or love the other master. be hot or cold, not lukewarm Revelations 3. they chose it as a livelihood, not God, true Christians sing about being a Christian, spritual things based on the Bible and Christ. Christ = Christ ians. sinners sing about sin and sinful things, sex drugs violence money.

  • just a note, a song cant be Christian if the people singing it arent Christian. a person cant be a sinner and a Christian at the same time

  • I have a couple songs that I think sound Christian (though the other songs of the band, Nickleback especially are decidedly NOT Christian) - Nickleback "If Everyone Cared" and Linkin Park "What I've Done" - both GREAT songs.

  • Cool, I may have to check them out!

  • still yet, you cant be part Christian and part somethiing else. youre either one or the other, the Bible teaches Christians that we are to deny ourself of what we want and to seek after what God wants. you cant be a murderer and a good samaritan at the same time. you cant be a soldier and a civilian at the same time. its an easy concept often over thought by many.

    please read:

    2 Corinthians 6:14-17/James 4:4/1 John 2:15,16

  • That isn't want I'm saying here. I understand that if we are not saved by grace that we will enter hell upon death. I'm not questioning unbeliever's salvation, not even their motive for what they create, only that God can use it for good. Feel free to disagree, but I think we'd have to agree to disagree on this one.
