  • Buddhism should include Veganism as a core belief.

  • i have a small doubt..... what f i stop doing everything bt to feel the freedom. then hw cn a teenager gets to its goals in life.? does the goals automatically comes to me as the carrot does to the donkey... no rit? i think we should come to certain position life to feel this freedom and let go things... by the-way thanks Ajahn brahm ur teachings are sooo grateful. i sometimes cried... im jst nly 19 years old. :)

  • sadhu sadhu sadhu..thank you ajarn

  • Sounds like Sir Roger Penrose might have had Asperger's Syndrome, which is common among extremely creative or innovative individuals, especially in the sciences.

  • For anyone who wants to know the true meaning of life, please go check out the scribd website that is listed on my channel.

  • Ajahn, I love your talks...they inspire me sooo much to find myself. I would love to attend in person to your talks....I live in Toronto, Canada....wonder if you are planning to visit here. <3

  • Thank we very much, Ajahn Brahm. We both enjoyed and got inspired by our talk.

Or am I taking it to far?

Anyway, your talk has given me more things to think about. For me life is still complicated. I wish I knew someone like you. I would be with that person everyday, enjoying the love, peace and wisdom together.

Yet, the way you spoke made me feel peaceful, your motivational words to encourage laziness were especially inspiring.

    Love you,

    Heterosexual Johnny

  • I love Ajahm Brahm. I need to take this opportunity to speak on behalf of non-humans. All sentient beings deserve to not be exploited. Please consider going vegan. We kill 56 billion animals (not including fish) every year for no other reason than their bodies 'taste good'. Non-human animals value their life as much as you or I and fight to hold onto it, please don't needlessly take it from them.

  • Monks are so genuine; they are always themsleves

  • I am a donkey

  • @florinnuu I think I'm a rabbit. °,,°

  • Sometimes, I don't know what to believe "/

  • Apparently this buddha guy already said not to believe anyone but find own wisdom? Yet here is a crowd of useful idiots listening to someone else's wisdom. Oh hang on, he wears a nice brown curtain that makes him so fucking wise...

  • @mrmrhat33 wow for a second there i forgot that people are creatures which learn and respond to their environment. Let us of course forget about immitational learning which you first experienced as a child and continually undergo. Or, did you sir, completely remove yourself from the human race and gain knowledge by nothing that exists at all. I do enjoy your hate mongering, but im sure that you understand the pointless nature of it. Atleast deep down. Learn biology or pscyhology...

  • @mrmrhat33 - you are wrapped in your argument.. if u dont want to listen to anyone else's wisdom why are you listening to Buddha's wisdom "not to believe anyone..." think about it..

  • @lonelydinosaur because he achieved enlightment, we look for elightment too, we study and observate to achieve our own , we learn from anyone and veryone...

  • the universe was created by chance...atheists and buddhists agree but Buddhism requires as much faith in metaphysical rubbish (rebirth for eg ) as monotheism does. without any real widespread scientifically supported data whatsoever. Then...if someone embraces Buddhism they have to deal with fucking control freaks who like to think they can't be questioned because they are more 'enlightened'

  • @mrmrhat33

Hmm, whatever you say, all the concepts are a part of philosophies. Concepts are just concepts not a truth. Theories, philosophies etc cannot be a Truth but andit has already been said by the Buddha himself. Buddha says his teachings are just a guide book to cross the river of sufferings. Any way, what do you mean by rebirth? I think monks do not self-claim to be enlightened! If someone claims one Budhdists understantand he is really fake. What do you mean by scientifically?

  • ...he's obviously a weakling who can't cope in the real world, but can tell everyone how to live a meaningful life from a distance ...getting plenty of food (he's pretty fat- thought u lot weren't supposed to be attached to sensual stuff? ) and getting idiots to bow towards you...at least Christians don't allow for idolotary. Like all religions buddhism is nonsense...Has anyone ever 'seen' a stream of consciousness pass from one body to the next? Yet Buddhists claim all there is is nature

  • @mrmrhat33

How do you say he is weakling the people? It is really idiotory to say that he is hunger of your greetings. Where does Buddha say consciousness passes from one body to the next? idiot!

  • beautiful dhamma talk

  • the "bikkhu" on the left cannot sit still?

  • @Kalatiso he wants to have a wank, leave him alone

  • @mrmrhat33

    LOL!

  • @mrmrhat33 I do agree in one aspect, that listening to the talks is listening to the wisdom of another person and is therefore insufficient, BUT! it is good to have some inspiration and guidance on the path. Besides there are many people who don't know of the noble eightfold path.

  • God made the purpose and he seems kinda messed up sometimes but God is righteousness and i must follow God

  • @killercookie777 peace to you

God is never messed up,people sometimes are, may God guide them all ameen

for buddhist the meaning is to reach enlightenment,

a better world now and after dying as the way you live you will die

for me it's important to do good, the things that please Allah

  • @shadieqa1 true dud

  • @shadieqa1 Please mind that enlightenment is not a place where we want to go after death. Enlightenment is said to be the true understanding of the nature of life & learning to live in content with everything. That is what we believe is the true happiness (Well not all but ultimately it is what it should be and everyone is suppose to understand that gradually). our main purpose is to do what purifies the mind & refrain from any action that would contaminate it.i.e to please our mind. With Metta!

  • @MaduTheImaginator peace to you,you are so right about that,it is a state of mind

by developing the factors of enlightenment so rebirth will be peaceful

muslims purify through prayer and living according quran inshallah

loving kindness for you too and hope you will succeed in your efforts inshallah

    salam:))

  • @shadieqa1 Thank you! Salam to u too :)))

  • The Intelligent man avoids the delusion of dogma and like Cicero clearly sees. so he picks those things that are good from philosophy and leaves what is dubious or of no use but can harm behind. this goes for Buddhism as well.

  • Yeah

    hes back again

  • Great!!! He always cheers me up!!!

  • Ajahn Brahm's talks are always so easy to keep listening to until the very end. There's rarely a tendency for me to stop early and jump to something else on Youtube. And these talks are usually 1 hr long or more! He really does give a wonderful message in every talk.

  • @yogituky, I concur with your observations. :) Listening to Ajahn is not unlike meditation, for his mode of delivery conveys the very state of unfettered pure being that the meanings of his words point us to.

  • @yogituky

    Yes, you are absolutely right!

  • Life is not controlable. Therefore, the meaning of life is meanngless.

  • Your wisdom make me smile :)

  • good message.

  • I love this video. This is really the truth.

  • i don't think there is a meaning to life apart from the biological necessity and the rest is fantasy.

  • @paullees557104 I agree....

  • @paullees557104

Why is biological necessity a meaning? In fact, Buddhism may agree with you. So much of what people associate to be "them" could be described in such a way. So, if you take that away, what remains?

Is the moon in the water different from the water that reflects it?

  • This talk is amazing. I hope more people can listen to this great talk and hopefully can put meaning into their life.=)

  • I do hope more people listen to this and I love the joke at 17 mins in lol.... very true ..... chillllllll :-)
