  • Looks like u had nothing better to do.

  • dude its not that hard to do its called After effects

  • regarding the reflections, they could have just filmed the monitors when they were shut off leaving them all black to see clear reflections. Then after tracking and positioning the video in post they could have put the footage of the black screen with reflections they filmed over the tracked on footage and set the overlay mode to screen to overlay just the reflections and get rid of the black color!

  • @MGproductions27 easy as pie!

  • The board behind him was not showing himself it was different because it's slanted upward his jacket is slanted downward

  • wtf! r u dumb? sure this video is fake! they didn`t hack into the screens, its arranged with the company who does this commercials on those screens! some kind of advertismen maybe...idk. but how can u say its not fake? at first u say they don`t use that device on the phone and then u say the video is real? and the guy is on one of the screens and he is not even close and thats cause of the delays...

  • @KotzeKotze He's saying that it wasn't edited on a computer and that the images actually were on the screens. You clearly are either ADD and were not paying attention to the video at all, or are mentally handicapped, and should not be commenting on YouTube.

  • your face like the man in the amityville horror movie

  • oh so he can just go up to any companys billboard and make himself show up?

  • i can do these fx no problem :) (i do get after fx and premiere in school :P )

the reflections are realy not hard to fake, but still it looks real

  • @jeremiahjw You are wronng i can totally do this easily, with after effect its easy to do reflections and motion tracking.

I bet he will never answer that comm

  • @geek935 Prove it

  • @jeremiahjw i would like to mention you one major FAIL here....

THE VIDEO SHOULD BE ROTATE!!!! the phone wile filming was 90degree rotate on the left.....well that means whichever monitor he hacked that should be also rotate! total fake! every single monitor he "hacked" was "correct" but the video output wasn't 9:16 ratio!!

  • @jeremiahjw I'll second that. I've been using after effects for over ten years and I could track and do those reflections pretty easy. If you don't have another frame you can take the reflection from, you add some random bright footage in overlay mode to marry your composited footage to the screen.

  • @geek935 hahah, i agree with you... have not dont mutch witch after effects but im getting there (check my channel out ;D if u wonna se som other cool stuff ) but i could esely do that haha.. he does not know shiit :P

  • Haha he did say he farted hahahaha

  • 1:54

    But I farted...

  • @jeremiahjw What mouse do you use?

  • @crazydudetz Logitech 69x

  • this guy loves metal

  • that was advertising for limitless

  • It now blocks out the logo on the large billboard shown at the end where the Limitless trailer is being shown with an annotation on the original vid.

  • some notes...:

yes the video screen were real

did the transmitter work? probobly not.

limitless probobly paid the people who own those digital billboards to show that video.

im prety sure that the iphone WAS in fact showing the same thing at the same time, and was sending to the billboard, but still... it was a good idea, and a good show. so props to whoever made this video.

  • obvious its a hoax the so called transmiter is plugged into the audo jack..... the only thing it would do would be transmit audio

  • @cmathew4 i think you can stick phono leads in those audio jacks in the old iphones and hook it to your tv - it's an extended type, so you can get video - dunno what iphone he was using - but the older type for video is a 4 pin headphone plug - not so easy to debunk.

  • Think about, is it worth it working hours and hours (thus, paying the employees more) just to make the effects right, or it's easier to buy that ad space for a few seconds? Besides, the movie distributor (for Limitless) can afford showing the trailer for a few minutes, so why can't they show that little "hack" for a few seconds?

Oh, just because you found something that suggest it is fake, that's just one reason, and can be explained. The guy got tons of reasons, better than yours.

  • Thumbs up if you got here from Yahoo.com or freddiew

  • Any one can make reflections I can do it

  • HE'S Asian, YOU'RE White,Asian=A HUMAN CALCULATOR. YOU= RETARDED

  • i reloaded this vid 7 timesss...i cant watch IT!!!!!!

  • look at 3:31, the image on the big screen has moved a little into the grey bar > fake if you ask me, but really nicely done.

your argument is: it's really hard to fake that.

But that doesn't make it impossible

  • @PepijnvanderVaart hahaha its true. it does move out of the screen in to the edge

  • maybe he had a button that he would push on the device that would tell the screnn to show it

  • @Stupitname True, but once they are 13, they can't.

  • IMHO it's simplier than it looks. There is another movie "my limitless times square hack - how i did it (NZT) " and the only difference between it and oryginal movie is that "how i did it" is longer few seconds and that asian guy say clearly "NZT" and show something for few seconds. They probably want ppl to google about it. Movies on screens aren't fake, they was displayed for real and placed on screen in right moment with some editor, that's why hack effect is pretty convincing.

  • this is just creepy, people just hacking into things? whats next? hacking into your computers so they can take pictures as you do things with out noticing?

  • I still don't really know if it is a fake or not. The reflection is actually pretty easy to do: You just have to record the screen once it's off, so it's black and you just have to overlay it on the vid' to keep all the highlights (like reflections). But I don't reject that it could be true :)

  • i agree with you but just sayin that doin a reflection effect isn't tht hard.

all you do is (in Adobe After Effects):

1.Copy the footage that you want to be reflected

2.Tint the footage to the color of the surface its goin be on (color correction | tint)

    3. Crop and rotate the image so it matches the area you want reflected

4.Lower opacity untill it looks like it's being slightly reflected on the surface.

i might do tht effect on my channel. it does take some time tho, but not too much.

  • oh yeah i agree with you.

  • So, what you're saying is...they playing a video on the monitors?! At the same time as they played it on the iPhone?! HOLY FUCKING SHIT!

What are you doing pointing out the obvious in crappy viral videos?! You should be out solving crimes!

  • I believe it might be possible to do someday because Cell Phone interference is able to disrupt CRT monitors, and Iv'e seen similar interference from certain devices affecting lcds.

  • I don't see how this is supposed to be an advertisement for the movie limitless. Too many people would be immersed in the idea of this neat trick instead of a faggot movie. In that case this should be an advertisement for Starbucks, the Marriot hotel, Levi's, Memphis, Roxy, CNN, and Home Front as well.

  • @Gengar10000000000 The people that made it said it's an advertisement for Limitless, that's why it's suppose to be an advertisement for Limitless. ;-)

  • @jeremiahjw It was poorly done. As for the hack, it's fake as fuck. I don't see why this dick head wrote on his video "Not fake" making me think he was going to explain how this wasn't an advertisement for limitless and how it was really a video about hacking digital screens.

  • @Gengar10000000000 he mentions the pill of whatever fantasy substance they give the main character in the movie limitless, in the beginning of the video.

  • @o0smokingmonk0o That doesn't fucking excuse it from being real like this bipolar motherfucker says it is.

  • @Gengar10000000000 well, he means real as in 'not' green screen or cgi, the company just rented the screens. personally i would call that fake, since it's trying to trick dumb people into thinking it's a video about hacking, instead of just another stupid ad. But to get back on point, the asian guy holds up a pill in the beginning (lol, call the feds) and it's fictionally the same drug as in the movie.

  • @Gengar10000000000 what i take offense to are all the people re-hosting this ad on their accounts, are they such whores that they'll copy anything? even if it's just a commercial?

  • @Gengar10000000000 There is a second video that he says he's on NZT

  • i dont think the pill called DZT which he is taking made him that smart that he could make tht transmitter as DZT pretty much causes psychosis, paralysis and ultimately death

  • GET A LIFE JEW...OR AT LEAST A REAL JOB...

  • What I got from this video was that to handle the reflections you see in the times square hack video, you'd need to do one of two things: 1) actually show the footage on the TV (making this seem more "real") or 2) spend a ridiculous amount of money on video editing to strip out the reflections as an overlay, replace the original screen area with your ow displaying the hacked video, then place the reflections overlay on top of your video. He convinced me it was option 1).

  • dude. I just LOVE how you keep doing that rock and roll sign \m/

  • that video was dumb. all he said was that the reflections would make it hard to be a fake. nothing informative. waste of 3 minutes/

  • Your kind of curious who did this? it's obviously Communist China who did this. Trying to scare the public.

  • chroma key + AFX + your spare time = should do it.

  • People are not even looking up

  • Those are really loud mouse clicks. Thank you for taking your time to make this video.

  • It fake right.

  • They even had the words "limitless movie trailer" in the tags of the video...

  • @PumpUpDahMilk That was after they announced it was for Limitless.

  • so you're saying they took the footage and edited the video in afterwards? or that they actually got the video to be projected from the screens and not hacked? cuz the reflections are on the case (or screen) around the TVs... the reflections have nothing to do with the video being on the screeen (hacked or not) they have to do with what lights are really being reflected onto that glass.

so im kinda confused to what you're saying

  • @sleepyhead61 What he's saying is that the video footage was actually being shown on the screens, just not via being hacked in to, they likely paid for that footage to be shown on the screens for their viral ad.

  • @sleepyhead61 he didnt hack them they were preset, the thing with the reflection is he is proving it was really on the screen.

  • @alabamafanforever yeah but im saying that the reflections (at least the way he's explaining it...to me) doesnt make any difference whether it was hacked or not... cuz reflections dont have to do with the video they have to do with the glass and the lights in the city....

  • i think this is just a cool way to promote the new movie limitless :p (if you see their second vid) youtube video's who get viral are excellent to promote things, such as movies. But it realy still stays an cool video !

  • i think this is just a cool way to promote the new movie limitless :p (if you see their second vid) youtube video's who get viral are excellent to promote things, such as movies. But it realy still stays an awsome video !

  • reflections are easy, record from it and cut out a little rectangle and fit it, then make the birghtness funny and turn optacity down. But still, its an advert FOR A MOVIE. (obviously) so they probably have some money. I thought it was stupid but im going to go watch it now

  • It's promotion for Limitless, a new movie coming out people.

Click the annotation bubble at the end showing how he does it. the drug he says he takes to do this is the drug from the movie.

  • Dude, you're good. Do you have a career in video production?

  • why bother this video just wasted a load more time

  • fag u dont no wht ur talking about

  • This video shown is so BIAS with that guy who hack the screens on time square AHAHHAA

  • its a promo for the movie limitless, but you are on your stuff. It is fake, as in that device doesn't do shit. And it is real, as in paramount pictures payed for the time square add time.

  • Not Video Sir u describe it well !!

  • They could have bought it but they would have to get the timing just right. Having reflections line up should not be that hard if aftereffects is like photoshop since they are both from adobe I don't see why aftereffects would not have multiple layers like photoshop. Single out the reflection and underlay the video. Adjust the opacity and done. Would be a lot of work but so would getting the timing right for the video (or they could just use fx on the iphone screen instead).

  • if you piss directly straight at the urinal 'wall' you'll get splash back.... jus' sayin

  • It was a commercial

  • Comment removed

  • @JustWatchItNowYT That's what I'm saying in the video

  • Its a promo for limitless... sheesh.

  • Thumbs up if you think Rebecca Black should be the new Rick Roll'd

  • He is Asian. Your argument is invalid.

  • That "frame by frame" thing is called MOCHA. Hollywood has big fat programs to do the most of the job.

  • It's part of a viral ad campaign by the filmmakers of Limitless, it's simply a ninja ad, makes you think it's just another YT video but it's really an ad. An impressive ad nonetheless lol. (Watch the how they did it video and you'll see why it's a promotion for Limitless.) Moral of the story? Ad campaigners are becoming trickier and trickier kiddos ;)

  • its a commercial

  • This video is pointless.

  • @jshaw6600 yeah ... completely

  • yahoo brought me here...

  • C'mon guys its a MOVIE AD!!! the pill he says "NZT" theclearpill[dot]com/ gosh do some research

  • Maybe he borrowed the balloon ?

  • Leave him alone! he's asian :D ..

    Asians can make everything trollolololol

  • hahahahahaha yahoo said that it was fake and the y rented out the screens to display the video on it

  • its not a promotion for limitless cause there is not invideo ads for the movie its just some guy making a video

  • he is retarded all u have to do is keyframe that spot using a masking tool in after effects and change the opacity for the reflection effetct

  • Thank you. Very clear and concise!

  • okay wtf im kinda losst kan someone explain?

  • @darthman4 he did explain in the video.....can't you listen to words? He's speaking English. He's not using techno-speak....whats not to understand?! Seems pretty strait forward to me.

  • @frankensteinmoneymac I understand what hes saying lol i just thought someone would just explain it better thats all

  • @darthman4 No prob....I was a bit of an A-hole (im like that on Youtube for some reason). The way I understood it...without watching the whole thing again. Is that he is saying that it is not a Computer Effect, such as super-imposing the image...but it is actually physically on the monitors in question....Still he believes it is a hoax, for various reasons that he points out. He was right too! It turned out to be a viral ad campaign for a movie called "Limitless" (I think thats the title)

  • @frankensteinmoneymac its kool dude and thanks for explaining :)

  • \m/ as you show things !

  • If it was real they would have used live footage and not pre recorded

  • How is it real? It's no shit they still did something to make it seem the videos were there. You sir are a dumb.

  • Not fake in titles always means fake

  • I WANT YOUR SCREEN

  • how is this promoting limitless?

  • this is fake it was a promotion for limitless.

  • Comment removed

  • You know when someone says, "it's not fake". It is fake.

  • dude he took NZT :P thats kinda scarey right there, at first i thought it was a like some sort of tech but its really a pill

  • I saw Bigfoot's foot print in the woods

I took a picture of it

  • The more I watch this the more I'm inclined to come to the same conclusion: that they probably rented a few minutes of time on these monitors. I still think there was probably some compositing for the iPhone versions of the videos. It would have been far easier to add that portion of the video in post than it would be to try and time everything perfectly on location.

  • If it was real, have you heard? A simple advertisement caused a Cyber Terrorism case. If that was real, you'll see that Asian guy in the news behind bars.

  • You do realize that all of that compositing and tracking is relatively trivial to a triple A studio nowadays right? Yes, even the reflections and glare. The quality of the effect doesn't necessarily denote that it was done at filming (although, it certainly could be). It can be done relatively simply using a combination of 3D software and post production editing. Just sayin..

  • then why is it that at 1:37 everyone starts laughing at the screen.

  • @BigBen12120

I honestly dont think they were Laughing at the screen. I think they were laughing at the Short Asian guy holding a baloon in time square, i mean if i were there at that time i would have been laughing at the 4,8" asain guy too! xD That and if it were real then why did he not say hey dude check this out to a random person walking down the sidewalk and say look what i can do. FAKE!

  • @MizaharuXXXOxii

Why do you assume he's short? He looks about the same height as most of the people walking by.

  • So who was the creator of the video? You say they eventually confirmed what you said.

  • I really don't understand why this would make people more inclined to good see the movie limitless i didn't even notice the trailer playing in the background

  • @frosty100x The account that uploaded the vid, later uploaded the same stuff with a limitless comercial in the end of it

  • What movie is on the monitor at the end?..... NZT... it's a movie promo they have almost limitless money

  • get a life!

  • i think its a fake, mainly because, if he "hacked" into something like a time square screen, wouldnt he get in alot of trouble with the authorities, possibly like a terrorist threat hacking into a screen to get his message out (mainly because he's asian)

  • its real or fake ?!

  • dont be jealous man i think is real you are just jealous he invented the thing to hack the monitors lol

  • educational, thank you

  • We don't really care that it's not VFX

"video is actually played back on the bla bla bla bla"

    waste of time

  • This was a lot of work for just an advertisement.

  • This is stupid. You could 100% make all that with Adobe After Effects. Everything you pointed out that "couldn't be done" can be done. Not easily but who's to say they didn't take months to create this. I work with After Effects for a living and I can tell you this could all be recreated!

  • @djdoublea He didn't say that it can't be done, Just that it would be really hard. And how good it is would rival most Hollywood effects. Also he said that it would be around the same cost to just pay the people that own the billboards to put up their video then to make the after effects editing. Would save a lot of time in the end as well.

Would be cool if the billboard hacking was real though.

  • who gives a shit

  • your a loser with no life why are you even obsesing with the video dude

  • @djcalihood That's not an obsession. This is knowledge about a viral marketing ad he projected to the youtube community because of how blatantly retarded the majority of it is. You're gonna claim he has no life, but you took the time to watch the video and then bitch at him for it?

  • staged and bicurious!!

  • No its not real

  • u know its a video promoting the new movie Limitless click on his page

  • You're putting your fingers on the monitor? OMFG!

  • bottom line... ot's fake - waste of my time..

  • This guy could be a scientist or a detective.

  • the movie limitless was excellent.

  • don't trust a guy with that kind of hairstyle!

  • @aylera Hahaha

  • @jeremiahjw

Thanks Man. I was fooled for a few seconds till i watched your video. :)

  • @aylera which hair style? the commentator or the guy in the time square? and why?

  • You would be so humiliated if the author of the video would reveal it's fake!

  • @spreepin The author of the video already said it's fake, and I knew that. I was saying the part that is real is the playback on the monitors. It isn't being hacked, but it is being played back, not an FX.

  • @jeremiahjw I get ya ;)

  • @jeremiahjw you're most probably right about your conclusions but the reasons don't satisfy me. Regarding the reflections, image they were "planted" before the image changed. Then the issue about being the same all around doesn't make much sense.

One more thing about this "analysis" of yours ... are you really versed in this type of hacking or is it just an empirical explanation coming from a curious guy ?

  • This IS fake because all those tv's are not recieving a wireles video feed they use cables for that. Also to overide an existing wireles signal would require more energy but it's so tiny that 'overrider thingy' that it couldn't possible generate enough power to do this. Conclusion the commercial company bought time for usage of those screens to. Everybody that believes this is possible is an idiot

  • @NeutralCountry Yes, everybody who doesn't know every exact detail about everything is clearly an idiot. No, wait...anybody who thinks that everybody who doesn't know everything about everything is an idiot...is an idiot.

    Short version: you're an idiot.

  • @MaximusRelaximus Hey can I help it that you don't know about basic stuff 101

  • @MaximusRelaximus oh yea maybe it's because your a redneck who never enjoyed a good education
