I have my PPE set on the 220hp and it smokes quite a big. But it doesnt really smoke at all if your just revving it..your truck probably hauls ass with it set on the 350Hp tune, cuz the 220HP tune is pretty badass
Which setting was then on your PPE programmer? I'm guessing it was at least the Level 3 setting(+160hp) or higher to get that much smoke. I usually run my LBZ on level 2(+90hp) and I swear it runs cleaner than stock. On the higher settings, it smokes a good bit more.

01 - 04 had a lot of probles. a lot ppl had probs with the injectors and fuel pumps. they changed up the motor a bit in 03 i beleive and 05 and 06. my uncle has a 05 n its awesome. i know pepole that had 01, 02 and 04z. they were shit, motor always fucked up

But it looks really good the interior is bit**in and holy cab space. Transmission went out in 3,000 miles, truck is totally stock and has never towed anything. Those chicken shit bastards at Chrysler/Dodge won't warranty it and flagged the transmission warranty. Thank god for the Lifetime Power Train Warranty huh? I'm not the only one either, plenty have have problems and no one is getting their warranty.
Fords look good, but go nowhere. Dodges also look good and make insane power and especially torque, but I have worked for Chrysler/Dodge and seen first hand what just an edge will do to a 24 valve CR's piston. On the street you can't beat a duramax, PPE has a 425HP 505TQ tune for the duramax which should easily be good for 600 HP at the wheels. When heavily modded, I'm not sure which engine is better duramax or cummins. Both are insane. I have an '08 Dodge 3500 Mega Cab, biggest pile ever owned.
Every '08 Super Duty 6.4L comes from the factory with 350 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, but only about 260 ponies and 490 lb-ft of torque make it to the ground.
With the PPE programmer cranked, the transmission kept wanting to kick down, so the pull had to be made easing into the throttle to avoid dropping into Third. Even so, the PPE produced an impressive 478 rear-wheel horsepower at 3,200 rpm and 845 lb-ft at 2,900 rpm-that's a 168hp and 320-lb-ft increase over stock. The EGTs were manageable during the quick dyno pull and never went above 1,200 degrees F on level 6.
Once the truck was on the dyno, a few pulls while stock were made so we could get a baseline number. With the modifications listed above, the truck put out 310 rear-wheel horsepower at 3,200 rpm and 525 lb-ft of torque at 2,700 rpm, showing that a near-stock Duramax is still fairly healthy in the power department.
We began by dyno testing the rear wheel horse power of the stock duramax truck in order to achieve a baseline figure. The test netted a decent 315 HP and 588 TQ

mr. all about cummins here thinks he knows what hes talking about, ppe is rated between 40-425hp, and you should know unless that cummins is 02 and under yes the dmax will win, but 03+ with a smarty i dont think a stock dmax will win but hey you should know sence you name is "cumminspower"

if your talking about a cummins smoking more then that stock, your retarted, if your talking about it making more hp then 350 maybe... but it wasnt week listen to the truck he didnt even touch 3,000rpm's and under a boost launch, cummins would have a hard race to win.

hard race for both, cummins made a hp jump in 03 and then again in the 04.5 models pretty much 05, duramax did to however it depends on what year the dmax and cummins are.....but hey its ok just remenber what i been telling ya your little truck wouldnt beat my silverado that 6.0 is gunna kill you son!

01 - 04 had a lot of probles. a lot ppl had probs with the injectors and fuel pumps. they changed up the motor a bit in 03 i beleive and 05 and 06. my uncle has a 05 n its awesome. i know pepole that had 01, 02 and 04z. they were shit, motor always fucked up

yeah i got an 02 dmax dually and had to take it to a chevy dealer to replace the injectors.. but no problems after that

But it looks really good the interior is bit**in and holy cab space. Transmission went out in 3,000 miles, truck is totally stock and has never towed anything. Those chicken shit bastards at Chrysler/Dodge won't warranty it and flagged the transmission warranty. Thank god for the Lifetime Power Train Warranty huh? I'm not the only one either, plenty have have problems and no one is getting their warranty.

Fords look good, but go nowhere. Dodges also look good and make insane power and especially torque, but I have worked for Chrysler/Dodge and seen first hand what just an edge will do to a 24 valve CR's piston. On the street you can't beat a duramax, PPE has a 425HP 505TQ tune for the duramax which should easily be good for 600 HP at the wheels. When heavily modded, I'm not sure which engine is better duramax or cummins. Both are insane. I have an '08 Dodge 3500 Mega Cab, biggest pile ever owned.

Every '08 Super Duty 6.4L comes from the factory with 350 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, but only about 260 ponies and 490 lb-ft of torque make it to the ground.

On the stock tune, our '05 F-250 6.0L seemed to take forever to build boost, and the end result was a less-than-stellar 237 wheel horsepower.

With the PPE programmer cranked, the transmission kept wanting to kick down, so the pull had to be made easing into the throttle to avoid dropping into Third. Even so, the PPE produced an impressive 478 rear-wheel horsepower at 3,200 rpm and 845 lb-ft at 2,900 rpm-that's a 168hp and 320-lb-ft increase over stock. The EGTs were manageable during the quick dyno pull and never went above 1,200 degrees F on level 6.

Once the truck was on the dyno, a few pulls while stock were made so we could get a baseline number. With the modifications listed above, the truck put out 310 rear-wheel horsepower at 3,200 rpm and 525 lb-ft of torque at 2,700 rpm, showing that a near-stock Duramax is still fairly healthy in the power department.
