Met Hulk Hogan while he was doing the reality show in LA. He checked in the same hotel as my family and I had a good chat with him while his wife and the daughter were fixing their makeups in the car. Such a nice guy, very warm-hearted man. what you see on TV is not definitely everything, I think.

Of course we all know we can't rely on the wrestling business for honesty. Again, what difference dose it make how tall Andre was, he is the most impressive of all so called giants (esp. w/ the afro & side burns).

Actully your right, Andre was only legitimately about 6'10, maybe 6'11. But he wasn't built like a normal guy that tall. Basketball players that tall, are lanky and skinny, but Andre was built with a huge torso. He suffered from Acromegaly, aka Giantism.

Also, I've seen a photo of Andre next to Wilt Chamberlain near the end of the Giant's life. Even though age, weight and injuries had shrunk Andre (again, the stooping took off probably two inches), he was still about the same height as Wilt -- he looked to be about an inch and a half shorter than the 7'1" basketball star. I'd say Andre was probably 7'1" at his tallest and about 6'9 - 6'10" near his end.

I met Hogan back in '98 in South Dakota. I'm 6'2" and he looked like a very solid 6'5". I'm not sure if he has shrunk since this match (the 70's?) but he looks to be at least a half foot shorter than Andre. Of course, Andre always hunches over in this match, he's never standing up straight which makes him appear shorter.

Andre was massive, but he was no 7'4". Hogan at his peak was 6'5" or so, Andre wasn't foot taller. My guess was Andre was 6'10" or so. Don't take this as an "I hate Andre!", as he was my favorite as a kid and still to this day ranks up there in my top 5. I love the Giant, he just wasn't 7'4". Am I the only one who believes this?
