why were they shooting it? Are you stupid? How do you think someone learns to hit a target? PRACTICE! Just because you're dealing with much larger, deadlier weapons doesn't make that any less true. The NAVY practices with its weapons the same as the Army or Air Force. If they didn't they'd probably be fucked if they went into battle. If you want a good example, try to find footage of the HMCS Huron [a Canadian NAVY vessel] being retired. The stripped it of equipment and shot the hell out of it.
