  • Great Video!!

  • it only matters how many amps you draw, watts has nothing to do with current flow. if you have 20 amp circuit then dont go over 20 amps. if you have 6 scanners that are rated at 4 amps each thats 24 amps. its basically that simple. they can have 250 watt bulbs in them for a total of 1500 watts but of course thats also at 24 volts , when you double voltage you cut amperage in half. so basically you only need to be aware of amp ratings not wattage.

  • thank go theres led now

  • @RMSENTERTAINMENT Yupp I'm 90% LED now, chech out some of me newer videos:)

  • @rushentertainment ive seen them i was just commenting on the fact that here it wassnt soo i was commenting..THANK GO FOR INNOVATION

  • lol, I probably would have done this if id have not seen this video...wow, thanks alot.

  • dont plug up the sound system with the lights no fucking shit! are you seriously trying to run all your lights off one circuit?! its called splitting up the power supple into two wall sockets if thats what your using....

  • @pixle500 Ummmmmmmmmmm Yea that's what the video is about and what i'm talking about lolol some people I tell yea, You'll be amazed by how many people just hook stuff up without even thinking twice about what they are really doing. And no I'm not trying to plug all of this in to one circuit, I know quite a bit about electronics and have gone to school for it so I know a thing or two about what I'm doing so I'm just trying to help the ones that don't really know and some of the younger guys

  • @rushentertainment dude im so sorry :S my comment was so harsh, no its a good vid people need to know about this. im sorry man i cant even remember posting this :S

  • FYI I have never popped a breaker in this hall it has 4 20A circuits available;)

  • @pixle500 Depends, his amps are efficient and he uses mostly LED now

  • A simple answer for that problem: just use L.E.D.

  • @Evodio65 or 3 Phase (BIG socket!!!)

  • We setup a smoke machine along with the sound system in same circuit... THe subwoofer was popping a bassy noise as i released the smoke :P :L

  • @smalltalkUK That is caused by the pump in the fog machine try to find a different circuit if you can

  • You get approx. 2400watts MAX on a 20AMP circuit. You can't assume you are getting the full 20 Amps/2400watts available to you as a circuit can have multiple outlets. If something else is on that circuit it takes some of that available power. Also when you push a circuits max capacity the breaker if older can shut down at less than rated. Or it maybe a 15 amp circuit in which case 1500 watts is your max. Be aware of how many watts your gear uses and stay well under.

  • @scrowin Exactly:)

  • Thanks, can you please send me a list of the lights you use

  • good tip for me thanks i am a beginer

  • @1edfgh No problem i'm here to help

  • For all you Non-electrician DJ'ers/Musicians remember this: ohms law! (look it up on google) in a nut shell...MOST commercial places/bldgs will have 20A circuits....If it is a standard outlet, you will have 120 Volts (nominal) on it. So with that being said (using ohms law), you should be able to ROUGHLY use about 2,400 Watts on said circuit....hope this helps....and also, (being a weekend warrior musician) i always try to put my lights on it's own circuit and my PA on it's own circuit (or 2)

  • @buttss €Yes vary true bud I did a video talking about that too:)

  • So its better to spread my light and fogger power connection to My setup.

  • @teveneyes YES!!!! you don't want to plug everything on the same curcuit.

  • LED is the best investment i ever made, a little expensive but the show is worth it!

  • Comment removed

  • @Djtexnikal Yes you hit the nail on the head it is in my contract and it should be in every dj's contract!!

  • Or You could get a ton of LED!

  • @CoolDJTV yes you could:)

  • Would you recommend using a separate power source (i.e. Power Generator) for your 250 halogen lights? I want to set up Elation and American Dj lights (Four Accu Scan 250s, two accu roll 250s and two Elation Design Spot 250 Pro)

    Thank you!

  • @seanxvw ahh I wouldn't use a generator they give unstable power, just use make sure you are on different breakers

  • @rushentertainment ok, thanks for the heads up!

  • Hey i have a question how did you put up the lights on the top and can you put up lasers on the top to? please reply back COASTRDUDE25.

  • @COASTRDUDE25 I use 1.5" O-Clamp's to hang the lights, the lasers I have are not really suspose to be mounted upside down

  • no you know why you dont get a earth loop so if ther is no music ther wil be no noice from youre speakers go ahead try it out

  • thanks alot for this

  • yea and another tip put youre laptop or pc on the same breaker as youre lights

  • @ljmike1204 I don't think you want to do that you'll be sorry if you do

  • hey man. 1 question. what amp do you use for your jbl srx 700?

  • @kevincolangelo don't be a ass this video is to help people it does depend on how many you use pay attetion to what i say im trying to tell people how to rin there lights without poping a breaker

  • were you get those pa speakers i been tryin to find some like those but i cant but can you help me?

  • @steroids23100 JBL don't make them no more they are kinda old

  • You need to keep the cercuits below 15 amps, a good rule of thumb is dividing wattage by 100, once you reach 15 amps, start using another outlit.

  • @arandomperson240: Note, most breakers has to have a tolerance of 125%, so you can go 25% above the 15 amp limit but that is only if you must, or if it is the grand finale which should be huge and if there is a blackout you can pass it off as being planned.

  • take your speakers off the stands and put the subs together 6db gain and even double bass

  • Wow, that is a nice set up!!!!!!!

    (I am a beginer)

  • great advice as per

pretty obvious about the sound being seperate to the lights but ive seen it happen so many times

i did a charity gig once and i took the lot. filled the goal post and the 2 t-bars used 4 differant power sockets (or outlets to the americans) and that breaker went with a bang lol and that was during the buffet!! One thing i reccomend is surge protecting everything because when you get a power surge your speakers and your laptop are first to go! and you kinda need speakers lol

  • Very nice setup men!!!!

  • i had one gig on our camping side i used the light rig the had i use daslight to controol the lights we had a 16amp fuse/breaker and we had 2 150w hti movingheads on it 4 scaners 2 100w bulbs and 2 250 w bulbs and 2 barels 1 250 bulb and one 100w bulb we popt the breaker 10 times during the show

  • good ideas but I think LED lights are the solution and bring alot of new effects to the light shows

  • Yes it is you can have a lotttt of them with out worrie

  • Led lighting is the way to go my friend. I have some led lights that run at a total of 17 watts. That is the whole peice not just the bulb. Go green and get led light. lol. But in all seriousness. Led lighting has very little chance of tripping breakers. More common are amps and foggers that trip breakers. Good tip my friend

  • Ya im slowly going green 1/2 of my lights are LED and I use the LED's a lot more then the helogan ones

    Thank you

  • Also its good to do a check put everything on and see if you pop a breaker if not your good if you do you know to watch it!!

    Great Vid

  • good tip ya you have to check everything, checking it all when the dance floor is packed is asking for trouble

  • can you do a video on that new ION iCUE.....thinkin about getting one

  • For shure ill do one for ya ill got a gig this weekend and ill do it then, this controller is a basic one but it is still nice im thinking about getting numarks top one.

  • if you do....are you willin to sale that one....and for how much

  • ill sell it what I payed for it $50 + shipping for the controller and numarks dj software I bought it new and only used it a few times and addicted to it, but I want something a little nicer, this controller dont have loop on it or FX controls

  • Ha HA freaking Ron was he calling you a "Light Whore" ha ha ha lmao this is a cool short video !!

Iike your subs I want to get me a pair of those !!

    -Keep It Rockin'

    -Louie Mixx

  • Ya ron's a goofball lol

  • ha ha ha freaking Ron made me crack up he is always calling people "something whore" lmao

    Cool Video

  • Good tips!

  • thank you

  • Hehe... nice vid but you could do a lil better on those cables you got hangin'... =) I'll post a video on how i set mine up when it gets warmer... it musta take you a long time to set these up... are those passive subs... better yet are you a one man dj?

  • This was taped at a B-day party for a friend, if it were a wedding it would be a lot lot cleaner setup. I have a cover for the light truss to hide all the wires;)

All my speakers are non powerd

  • Figured... dude, that's good that you have non powered... it's a pain in the ass carryin' 2 of my powered subs... so far those are the only heavy equipment I don't like to carry... of course I have carts to help me but since I live in a basement, these are no joke... For a full package how long does it take you to set up everything? I saw how you mix your m.videos... to be honest I would recommend Serato... if you can, look into it... tho they can improve on the quality but still looks great!

  • oohh it takes me about 2-3 hours to setup with help...

I tryed serato a few week ago and it is a vary nice program but I allready spent a ton of money on pcdj vj and mixmister

  • Yeah... it takes a lot in you when changing in to a different setup... took me 2 months to convert my things... prolly lost $2-300

  • ive just today got mixmeister for the buffett and breaks, its amazing, if i hadent spent £500 on numark cue and a DMC2 midi controller id be using it every night

  • Great Rig!

Is there a Giglog of this?

  • yepp check out my videos

  • all i do is locate and check the switchboard b4 i plug things in and i allso draw from sometimes up to 4 different circuts just for my lights (i can run up to 9600 w worth of ights on 4 circuts) and allso i test my lights b4 the guets come just in case i trip the main breaker

  • Great job!!!

  • True dat about popin bottles...... i mean breakers!!!

    lol,

    great vid man

  • that's why i love led lights, i just wish they were brighter

  • That is so true.

  • FINE maybe i will cheak someone elses vids out lol very good vid

  • lol

  • worse than popping a breaker is blowing your amp or amps...

  • ya i would have to agree with that!!!! but that has never happoned to me thank god

  • I crown theee "King of Gear Whores!!"

  • where all gear whores!!!!! lol

  • lol nice tip

  • Thank you
