  • Im going to put this in my dell e521 along with a 650w powersupply, the computer guy told me that if i did, i could basically run anything.

  • Really useful review, thanks my friend.

  • Please man, can you help me , I need a good video card to buy that can play crysis, cod mw2 and that games in high settings but i need to put it in a laptop in a sony vaio VPCS111FM please can you help me find one

  • @MarcoThe961 I really don't recommend gaming with a laptop. Parts are more expensive and its much harder to keep it all cool.

  • hey man nice review 5/5, one question though. Where did you buy your ATI Radeon HD 4870...

....and are two ATI Radeon HD 4870's

equivalent to.... ATI Radeon HD 4870x2

  • mate dbx58bt all the way 6 dimms for ddr3 up too 2333mhz and it takes quad crossfire whop whop and btw ive got 900w i surgest atleast 700w but if you gunna get rig get intel bx58bt best board on the market and its under 400£ ati=ftw:) fuck nvidia

  • how much power do you need for this card? iv got a cooler master Extreme 550 waat 80+ silver certified power supply. please reply. GREAT CARD

  • 500 Watt or greater power supply with two 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (600 Watt and four 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)

  • hey, I'm building a computer for gaming and i was just wondering if u could point me into a direction

  • get the P55 mobo coz its better than P45 and also get the overclocking board with crossfire capability if you have some extra cash

  • if i buy 2 of these and crossfirex them do i have to download some patches for some games that i can use the crossfire for good

  • Nope you should not need to download anything additional for crossfire to work with your games, it should work right away just fine.

  • Okey thanks

  • i got a 4870 1gb comeing in the mail in 3 days!!! the waiting is driveing me nutz haha, reviews like this keeps me sain :P

  • I have a 550W Corsair PSU. Does that have enough power to run the card efficiently?

  • Yes that will work, you could even run 2 of them with 550 watts but thats the lowest you could go with crossfire. But it will run one of them just fine.

  • @weemancod What kind of power supply would i need for the 4870 X2?

  • i have plans on getting the Intel BOXDP45SG

Would you recommend it for a gaming system?

  • Not if you want to overclock

  • I suppose it works all right but there is not much support for them for overclocking and such.. lets just say i wouldnt buy it again but i suppose it works good otherwise.

  • lmfao that's one big ass case.

  • oh and a 1024MB ATI Radeon HD 4870 GDDR5 video card,

  • Is it ok?!?

    That computer sounds fweeeking amazing!

how much was it 3000? 3500?!!!

  • I just orded a Dell XPS with the a Core i7 2.93ghz, 12G of DDR3 RAM, 2 1T hard drives, A Blu-Ray/DVD+R/RW Burner, and 2 Dell 30inch ultraSharp Widescreen 3008WFP Displays.

    is this a ok computer?

  • I dont know, it might be able to run solitaire if your lucky...

  • ur one sad man

GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard

    sapphire ati 4870 1gb(1card)

    750W PSU

    20-22 hd samsung monitor

samsung dvd rom and LG dvd writer NZXT Nemesis Elite case

    6GB ram

    windows xp sp2

  • is it a good build and can i play any games on high ? please let me know

    thanks

  • O and a western digital 640GB hard drive sata 2

  • Yea that is definetly a good computer, however if i were you i would wait for windows 7 to come out. It should be out within a couple of months and is much better than vista so thats the only advice i would give

  • ok great :) yeah i don't like windows vista either so im gonna get windows xp sp2 and maybe download sp3 later ... and when windows 7 comes out i'll give it a try :)

any other suggestions ? do i need to change something or add anything ?

    thanks alot :)

  • No that seems like a pretty solid machine, i wouldnt change anything

  • sweet ! do you think i better get win vista 64 instead of xp ? cuz i heard that xp can't handle more than 4 gigs of ram

sorry to bother you and thanks again man

  • Yea that is true, i forgot about that myself. You will need to get Vista 64.

  • alright thank you very much man :)

  • go for an i7 provessor, an ddr3 ram. If you do go i7, get an asus p6t.

    Your motherboard should be better.

Also, get 2 hard drives with raid 0

  • Comment removed

  • getting an intel corei7 920, intel dx58SO, ati radeon hd 4870 1gb, 4gb ddr3 ram, 22'' samsung t220hd monitor. will i play any game at maximum right??????

  • Yea for sure

  • hey wat do u think of q9550 wid 4870 1gb?? is it gud 4 high end games like gta 4?? plus i got an abit ix38 mothrboard 4gigs of ram.. u think i shud add nything more 2 get out 100% of gaming?!! really appreciate ur commnt on dis..

  • Yea with your setup you will be able to run anything thats out there right nor easily. You have everything you need for games for a while!

  • is that motherboard good?

im looking to buy one =]

  • As far as not having any problems and working just fine, the motherboard is good. But if you are looking to overclock and things like that, i would not recommend this motherboard. They really dont let you do anything as far as that goes. However, they do have a program to overclock the intel products but they havent gotten it to work with this one yet but it says they are working on it. So i would recommend it if you just want a good working motherboard but not if your a hardcore overclocker.

  • How many frames do you get in crysis @ very high settings (on average).

    Thanks in advance :D

  • 18-25 with a 24 inch monitor (1920x1200)

  • I think I'll be getting the XFX brand of this card.

  • Same here :D

  • ati+intel FTW

  • ATI+AMD Phenom II FTW also.

  • With your BOXDP45SG mobo, are you thinking about getting another graphics card for Crossfire? I'm thinking about using that mobo for a build I'm doing for my little brother...

  • In the future i may get another card, right now with this card it is more than enough to run all the current games and it would just be a waste of money to get 2 of them. But the mobo has been good so far and i havent had any problems with it.

  • Well, the card is 9.5" long and a little less than 10" with the power cables coming out the back. So you will have to measure your case and see is it will be hitting anything.

  • havent bought yet. But i know people with mid cases with 2 9800's in SLI

  • Nice review. Do you think one of those or a 4850 could fit into a Thermatake V9 Mid tower?

  • Great review!
