And obviously americans love to complain that import cars are unreliable. Its been like that since the dawn of cars. Nothing will ever be good enough unless its american made. Cadillac is the closest but are not desirable outside of america regardless of faked nurburgring hype with corvette engines.

@Janusha Fair enough on GM selling rebadges overseas, though to a much lesser degree many cars (at least for the US market) that are foreign and domestic brands have parts from Mexico or China. Though such a lack of production is telling, rebadge sales show that US brands are still fairly strong. I would agree that the U.S's role in production is very small, though Im not sure if lack of American built car sales is due to a lack of interest, or it being less profitable/practical than rebadges.

Obama even forced police to buy thousands of them inorder to boost its sales and keep production running. Their Nurburgring stunts is just a way to take attention away from all this and keep the flags waving.

Speaking of Lexus and Inifiniti cars, exterior design of MKS is a shitty rendition of GS and M series.
The reason I say that is because Lincoln used cheap ass, short D3 platform to handle rather long body of MKS. On top of that, they tried to copy modern design ques from Lexus GS. The end result is an awkward looking car with long long body with shorter wheelbase.
In other word, MKS is basically a half-ass luxury car wanting to fit between S/7 and E/5 series. They fucked it up, though.

I test drove MKS, Lexus GS430, Infinit M45 and Genesis V8.
MKS is a big clunker with lots of chromes and leather. I currently own Navigator, so I'm quite used to the interior and leather seats. The Weir leather is okay, but it's not really what it's cracked up to be. I actually found Genesis and Lexus seats to be more luxurious, soft and comfortable than seats of MKS.
After all, Lincoln is known to make cars that start falling apart after a couple of years. LOL!

They claim it's the same leather from Aston Martin. As it turns out, it's just cheap Weir leather put together in Mexico plant.
It sits on a same cheap platform as the one used by the old failed Ford Five Hundred model.
It has no 8 cylinder engine option. Virtually all full size luxury cars have V8 engine options, except this one and Acura RL. Front wheel drive at that too.
All these things add up to yet another cheap wannabe-luxury car from Lincoln. Need I say more?

Umm... obviously you've never been in a Lincoln with bridge of WEIR leather, otherwise you'd know it's probably one of the best leathers used in the sub 100k market.
And yes, I have done research... the Lexus LS460 AWD has a V8, less hp, a slower 0-60 time, and worse mileage (and it requires premium).
The S550 AWD has a huge (not to mention heavy) 5.5L V8, more horsepower, yet a slower 0-60 time and dismal 14 city/ 21 highway MPG (and it too requires premium).

I have no idea what point you were trying to get accross by posting that, but either way, there are lots of cars that go 0-60 in 5 seconds, the stand out factor for the MKS is the fact that it's a 4200+ pound 205 inch long 78 inch wide full size luxury sedan with a V6 engine (that gets best in class mileage).

Lincoln marketing campaign has finally reached a new level. They have finally came out with a luxury car that competes with its competitors! WELL DONE FORD!
This commercial is awesome, i had to watch it again. Lincoln does a fantastic job, they tap into our curiosity and fascination with space in those commericals. they make their cars seem like space ships and when driving one you're flying through space at light speed. if you see one of the first commercials for the MKS they event say "not all space ships need keys" or something like that. fantastic commercial, thanks for posting it! :)

And we build plenty of desirable vehicles. Especially over the past 3 years US auto manufactures either closed or surpassed many imports in quality.
Buick regal, Caddy CTS, the 2012 focus are just a few examples.

Speaking of Lexus and Inifiniti cars, exterior design of MKS is a shitty rendition of GS and M series.
The reason I say that is because Lincoln used cheap ass, short D3 platform to handle rather long body of MKS. On top of that, they tried to copy modern design ques from Lexus GS. The end result is an awkward looking car with long long body with shorter wheelbase.
In other word, MKS is basically a half-ass luxury car wanting to fit between S/7 and E/5 series. They fucked it up, though.

I test drove MKS, Lexus GS430, Infinit M45 and Genesis V8.
MKS is a big clunker with lots of chromes and leather. I currently own Navigator, so I'm quite used to the interior and leather seats. The Weir leather is okay, but it's not really what it's cracked up to be. I actually found Genesis and Lexus seats to be more luxurious, soft and comfortable than seats of MKS.
After all, Lincoln is known to make cars that start falling apart after a couple of years. LOL!

They claim it's the same leather from Aston Martin. As it turns out, it's just cheap Weir leather put together in Mexico plant.
It sits on a same cheap platform as the one used by the old failed Ford Five Hundred model.
It has no 8 cylinder engine option. Virtually all full size luxury cars have V8 engine options, except this one and Acura RL. Front wheel drive at that too.
All these things add up to yet another cheap wannabe-luxury car from Lincoln. Need I say more?

Really? No V8 option, what a shame, I guess it should take after all the other luxury cars and put in worse performing engines that get worse mileage instead of a lighter, 25 MPG, EcoBoost V6 (a heavier 20 MPG Infinit M that's less powerful, great choice).

Umm... obviously you've never been in a Lincoln with bridge of WEIR leather, otherwise you'd know it's probably one of the best leathers used in the sub 100k market.
And yes, I have done research... the Lexus LS460 AWD has a V8, less hp, a slower 0-60 time, and worse mileage (and it requires premium).
The S550 AWD has a huge (not to mention heavy) 5.5L V8, more horsepower, yet a slower 0-60 time and dismal 14 city/ 21 highway MPG (and it too requires premium).

Road and Track got a 0-60 in 5.0 seconds for the MKS EcoBoost, the LS460 goes 0-60 in 5.4 seconds and the S550 goes 0-60 in 5.3 seconds.

I have no idea what point you were trying to get accross by posting that, but either way, there are lots of cars that go 0-60 in 5 seconds, the stand out factor for the MKS is the fact that it's a 4200+ pound 205 inch long 78 inch wide full size luxury sedan with a V6 engine (that gets best in class mileage).

This commercial is awesome, i had to watch it again. Lincoln does a fantastic job, they tap into our curiosity and fascination with space in those commericals. they make their cars seem like space ships and when driving one you're flying through space at light speed. if you see one of the first commercials for the MKS they event say "not all space ships need keys" or something like that. fantastic commercial, thanks for posting it! :)
