  • Best part for me is @ 1:06. I use that beat quite often but have never thought to incorporate a fill like that into it. One question though, why are you practicing these independence patterns with your feet? The reason I ask is because I used to get caught up in doing things like this for the hell of it, until I realized there was little real world application. I think focusing on beats is much more important than building chops, but I suppose they are both interconnected.

  • @DefenceSpeech It depends really, practicing double strokes allowed me to be able to pull off some sweet 32nd note candy while playing slower 16th note rolls. Personally, I always like having little odds-and-ends chops in the bag in case I ever need to pull them out for something down the road.

  • play better than me thats for sure!! sounded tight to me!!

  • nice! those are paul's drums arent they? by the way, your drumming is awesome!

  • @allmetaliswelcome Thanks! And no, those are my drums. Paul is just always over my house playing on my kit, heh.

  • @Xasthur what kit is it? sounds pretty good

  • @allmetaliswelcome It's a Tama Superstar Custom, 10, 12, and 14 with G2 heads. The snare is a 12" Pork Pie Lil' Squealer with a black satin head.
