Ps3 has party chat.. Just not cross game. Once in-game the chat is identical to 360 & btw the ps3 version gets the map packs a week earlier & of the console versions the ps3 apparently runs slightly better

There is only really one thing I hate on the consoles :/ They're holding back games because they aren't allowing us to upgrade to the next PS/XBox till 2014 :/ So When the next BF game comes out it will be basically be the same graphics because of the consoles... But on PC of course :D I really wish that Sony/Microsoft would maybe add an option that you can upgrade your console to like XBox 360 v2 PS3 v2 and the next BF can have an option like the current BF for XBox to install a HD texture pack

I own a PC, PS3 and 360, and personally I enjoy the PS3 controller more, I also don't enjoy talking to people who are not in the game with me, especially when I'm playing Multiplayer. I'm glad they added Team Chat options in BF3. The XBL Voice Mail feature is a Great one when used correctly, The Party chat thing is cool also, but not something I use, and the amount of little Kids on XBL is extremely annoying. I"m getting it for PS3 and PC
PC doesn't have better graphics, it only has more detail cuz consoles lack the hardware to put up with the amount of detail PC can handle and BF3 has to offer, like if you agree

9:30 when a PC gamer says that they would dominate on Xbox they might mean this: there is such thing as "Cross platform game" which allows PC gamers to play with PS3 and Xbox gamers. One game that i own has this "portal 2" Consoles to play with PC players did not work well because of the advantage pc-gamers have over consoles: the extreme precision of the keyboard and mouse.

Just watched blackmesatech's latest video, Rush on Laguna Presa and it reminded me that all the kill streak and other messages that PC servers seem to display constantly in dead center of screen just don't appeal to me. I don't see all that on my PS3 and I am glad. Of course, he is capable of being pinpoint accurate with the coax gun on top of the Bradley in a way that I can't even approach. And crazy AT4 beast he is. But it's all trade-offs and preferences. Not worth a bunch of hullabaloo.
I have a PS3 and I would love to have a better comunication with my friends ... the chat system at the PS3 is the worst ever ... I think they won't do anything for us ... the PS4 will be released sooner or later and I think there will be a chat-system like that one on XBOX
I'll be playing BF3 90% of the time on xbox, since that's where my money has been invested (over the years, a LOT of gaming gear has been bought, sold, destroyed, upgraded etc., even if I can't touch the console itself) and that's where my main concentration of friends are, even if most of the people I follow play on PC.
Now, just so I don't miss anything I will also be playing on a high end PC, it just isn't my forte and never most likely will be.
I KNOW WHY THE PS3 DOESN'T GET CROSS GAME CHAT. When you play a game on the ps3, it devotes all of its RAM to the game, to help it run smoothly. If there was cross game chat, some of that RAM would have to be taken out of the game to do the cross game chat, and also any game that came out before cross game chat would not work because they were designed to run at full RAM witch would not happen with the cross game chat.
hopefully there will be air superiority for battlefield 3 giving console players a taste of more dog fighting that they wont be able to experience unless they have the pc version
Thanks for being a reasonable voice for our BF community, BirdMan! I'm on PS3 and it's pros & cons, man. Can't aim so hot with controller sticks, but I was never comfortable with A-S-D-W. I also sit in front of computer all day, and just prefer to game in a different ergonomic position, in front of my tv. Sad that I won't get 32 v 32 Conquest in BF3, though I can easily live with console graphics. Trade-offs is all it is. Not worth heartache, headache or ridiculous posturing (IMHO).
I use to be PC only pre 2007.. but then i got an xbox 360 and that all changed.. now i just have a pos outdated pc that can barely run minecraft.. I also have a ps3 which i play more than any.. I can't play pc games worth shit anymore.. I'm just terrible D: consoles ruined me! :P

one more thing to add hopfully no one will rage...but even though the ps3 has better hardware bc2 ran better on the xbox...if you notice when you spawn on someone or see a kill cam and even the win/ lose screen on the ps3 version, the textures would still have to load on characters and environments unlike the xbox where the textures were loaded right away because it wasnt running on blu-ray which makes alot of stuff hard to load fast on the ps3 but over all the gameplay is exactly the same.
The best platform is the one you prefer! But understand that does not make it the best platform overall. "Best" is a personal preference/opinion not a fact and people need to understand this.

Actually, on BF3, the entire team is going to be able to talk to each other so the party chat is no longer needed. Also, party chats on the PS3 aren't possible because the RAM space that is used for In-Game chats is to large for a separate system chat to take place.

On the old BF2, that runway was the default spawn point for the Chinese Army. We will probably see a lot of base raping because only one jet spawns inicially, the other is considered 'another spawn'
I have BC2 for all 3 systems. I used to be a PC only guy and I switched to xbox last may. I switched over to PS3 this may cause even after a year, I still hated the xbox controller. In my hands the PS3 controller is much better.
The transition from PC to console was insanely tough and frustrating. I turned into a crap player over night. :( But now, since I'm a pretty decent shot with the sticks, I enjoy the PS3 version of BC2 much more than the PC version.
PC is great but i like the controller from Xbox... keyboard is too complicated.. although i did get the hang of it when i was playing the alpha trial of BF3.
btw i know what you saying, i am pc gamer and never touch an controller, or i use one for sports games, so every time i play halo in friends house i getting so fucked. but then i rock them out on mine pc ...
About non upgradeable consoles: The disadvantage is that this causes the consoles to 'age' faster. But, the good part is this means that games can be optimised for specific hardware, so over time consoles are waaaay more efficient with their power. Most PCs are used more inefficient because every PC is different, although they compensate with raw power. Everyone having the same hardware also prevents that the community is split up (Although DLC is doing that nowadays).

It is truly sad that people feel the need to down other formats in order to feel superior. I guess for some that's all they have to grasp onto. Which, again, is very sad. I own both xbox and PC I like my PC more but as you said that and the PS3 are less social so I tend to play on my PC for more strategy oriented gameplay and on the console for call of duty and fast pace stuff I thought the video series you made was great and I'm not sure why someone of my community would down it because it was on console it is still the same game
look i love my pc but i think that the pc elitest shit is stupid, if you even mention you have played on a console in a pc lobby you have a 80 percent chance of getting kicked. i love pc a lot more just for its controls better graphics and games being a bit more in depth but i have no problem with the consoles and have played on xbox a lot before, just wish counter strike GO could include xbox in the multiplayer because playstation will be able to vs pc and i would like to see xbox in there too.
sony can't add the party system or the cross game chat due to ram restrictions. the ps3 has alot of ram but it is dedicated to the game and not the system. it is a shame but non the less BF3 will look just as good on the xbox360 as it does on the ps3.
They can't add party features because when you load up a game the entire RAM is devoted to the game. If they added party chat it would take some RAM which would not make it possible to run the game. They can't do it this late in the PS3's lifecycle. They're doing it with the VITA and probably on PS4.
There is a voice chat thingy on PS3.....I never tried it but im pretty sure you can speak to you're friends using it. Its like the Xbox party thing i guess =/
I'm not really bothered about not having 64 players on the Xbox, I find it pretty impressive that my 7 year old box can still compete with todays super computers.
It's a shame that PC gamers always say that they are better than anyone. I'm a console player but I also play on PC, and on PC you find both players with skill and noobs. On PC you find less noobs and more players with skill than on consoles, that's just the difference and it's not a big deal. And I bet that a PC player that never used a controller would have a hard time playing on console.

I will be getting it on PS3. Mostly because not only have I been playing all my BF games, and got all BF trophies on my account, but all my friends nowadays primary system is PS3, which is weird because a few years ago they were all hardcore xbox fanboys. It is a shame that PS3 has no party chat other than text chat. But After playing countless hours on BC, 1943, and BC2, I have grown used to the squad only chat.
now this flying takes skill,although there aren't to many ways to take them out besides the cannons.Which are complete shit at distance,but i understand its ww2.Hopefully BF3 jets will be like the planes in BF1943,hard to fly & only deciated players will fly them.
I'm initially getting BF3 on Xbox 360 than when I get my PC rig together around December I'll be picking it up for that then. I seem to take the transition from controller to keyboard and mouse pretty well because it's not like I've never played on PC, it's just I have never played on my own rig.
Most PC gamers own a console. If you have that much money for a rig you usually have enough for a console. I own a 360. Doesn't get played much though : O

I am not on a alienware, but a AM3 SLI pc,and its better than the i7 intel cpu with SLI
and i am not a cheap gamer but i have never paid for a rig that costs more than $1,000 to setup
My am3 cpu is the 6 core black box,with 2x560 gtx Ti cards in SLI +16g ram
And my last 2 cards that i had for like 4 years the 9800gtx+

Thanks for being a reasonable voice for our BF community, BirdMan! I'm on PS3 and it's pros & cons, man. Can't aim so hot with controller sticks, but I was never comfortable with A-S-D-W. I also sit in front of computer all day, and just prefer to game in a different ergonomic position, in front of my tv. Sad that I won't get 32 v 32 Conquest in BF3, though I can easily live with console graphics. Trade-offs is all it is. Not worth heartache, headache or ridiculous posturing (IMHO).

I use to be PC only pre 2007.. but then i got an xbox 360 and that all changed.. now i just have a pos outdated pc that can barely run minecraft.. I also have a ps3 which i play more than any.. I can't play pc games worth shit anymore.. I'm just terrible D: consoles ruined me! :P

one more thing to add hopfully no one will rage...but even though the ps3 has better hardware bc2 ran better on the xbox...if you notice when you spawn on someone or see a kill cam and even the win/ lose screen on the ps3 version, the textures would still have to load on characters and environments unlike the xbox where the textures were loaded right away because it wasnt running on blu-ray which makes alot of stuff hard to load fast on the ps3 but over all the gameplay is exactly the same.

Actually, on BF3, the entire team is going to be able to talk to each other so the party chat is no longer needed. Also, party chats on the PS3 aren't possible because the RAM space that is used for In-Game chats is to large for a separate system chat to take place.

I agree man, I'm a PS3 gamer and I like the PS3, but in deed I would like to make upgrades to the hardware,bud sadly no!!...I think is not EZ to pic one of the platforms because all of them have their different aspects and that's great, I thinks there's something for everyone and just arguing who's better is just dumb because they have their differences...what I want to know and I hope you can help is the beta 4 consoles, in my case PS3, how is gonna work, are we gonna need the MoH:LE??

On the old BF2, that runway was the default spawn point for the Chinese Army. We will probably see a lot of base raping because only one jet spawns inicially, the other is considered 'another spawn'

I have BC2 for all 3 systems. I used to be a PC only guy and I switched to xbox last may. I switched over to PS3 this may cause even after a year, I still hated the xbox controller. In my hands the PS3 controller is much better.
The transition from PC to console was insanely tough and frustrating. I turned into a crap player over night. :( But now, since I'm a pretty decent shot with the sticks, I enjoy the PS3 version of BC2 much more than the PC version.

About non upgradeable consoles: The disadvantage is that this causes the consoles to 'age' faster. But, the good part is this means that games can be optimised for specific hardware, so over time consoles are waaaay more efficient with their power. Most PCs are used more inefficient because every PC is different, although they compensate with raw power. Everyone having the same hardware also prevents that the community is split up (Although DLC is doing that nowadays).

It is truly sad that people feel the need to down other formats in order to feel superior. I guess for some that's all they have to grasp onto. Which, again, is very sad. I have usually owned all formats but this gen decided I would only get 1 console. I went PS3 since they were actually trying to innovate with the hardware and BluRay. So I'm currently a PC/PS3 gamer. I think your commentary was just about spot on. You were honest and stuck to the facts all the way. Great job again.

I own both xbox and PC I like my PC more but as you said that and the PS3 are less social so I tend to play on my PC for more strategy oriented gameplay and on the console for call of duty and fast pace stuff I thought the video series you made was great and I'm not sure why someone of my community would down it because it was on console it is still the same game

look i love my pc but i think that the pc elitest shit is stupid, if you even mention you have played on a console in a pc lobby you have a 80 percent chance of getting kicked. i love pc a lot more just for its controls better graphics and games being a bit more in depth but i have no problem with the consoles and have played on xbox a lot before, just wish counter strike GO could include xbox in the multiplayer because playstation will be able to vs pc and i would like to see xbox in there too.

sony can't add the party system or the cross game chat due to ram restrictions. the ps3 has alot of ram but it is dedicated to the game and not the system. it is a shame but non the less BF3 will look just as good on the xbox360 as it does on the ps3.

They can't add party features because when you load up a game the entire RAM is devoted to the game. If they added party chat it would take some RAM which would not make it possible to run the game. They can't do it this late in the PS3's lifecycle. They're doing it with the VITA and probably on PS4.

There is a voice chat thingy on PS3.....I never tried it but im pretty sure you can speak to you're friends using it. Its like the Xbox party thing i guess =/

It's a shame that PC gamers always say that they are better than anyone. I'm a console player but I also play on PC, and on PC you find both players with skill and noobs. On PC you find less noobs and more players with skill than on consoles, that's just the difference and it's not a big deal. And I bet that a PC player that never used a controller would have a hard time playing on console.

I will be getting it on PS3. Mostly because not only have I been playing all my BF games, and got all BF trophies on my account, but all my friends nowadays primary system is PS3, which is weird because a few years ago they were all hardcore xbox fanboys. It is a shame that PS3 has no party chat other than text chat. But After playing countless hours on BC, 1943, and BC2, I have grown used to the squad only chat.

I'm initially getting BF3 on Xbox 360 than when I get my PC rig together around December I'll be picking it up for that then. I seem to take the transition from controller to keyboard and mouse pretty well because it's not like I've never played on PC, it's just I have never played on my own rig.
