  • You are a complete tool for assuming that he is referring to the gospel when he is making up the religion. He could literally have been making fun of any religion and for that reason it was more religion in general as opposed to a single one. I Think the real reason it makes you mad is because you know deep down inside that it is true but you would rather close your ears and scream as opposed to just accepting the fact that all religions including your own were made exactly like in the movie.

  • Gervais' take on religion is spot on. Why is you religious superstition so weak?

  • I don't mind blasphemy in a movie, it's sometimes hilarious and even whilst watching this movie I didn't mind it so much and found it funny until the very end when he makes his confession to his love interest. Whilst what he was saying could be a lie, it could also have been the truth. I was expecting the movie to leave that open or have some crazy twist to show he was not actually lying. But no, this movie treats the existence of God as an obvious lie and paints believers as mindless sheep.
