to the public we may be heros but to us we are not we are here to help the people who are in need. people always say you are crazy for riskingyour life for people you dont know. but the way i look at it is i hope they would do the same for me if they were in our shoes as volunteer fire men or full time. but denis leary said it best in the show RESCUE ME "IM NO HERO IM A FIREMAN" stay safe everyone duty calls.

if you want to be a firefighter go for it!!! but to tall you the truth that most firefighter do not get payed for the work. if it is all you can think about and if it feels right then go for it and don't late any one tall you that you can't.
